How to install VR HOT for Quest
1. Get Sidequest
Go to https://sidequestvr.com/sign-up
Create an account
Go to https://sidequestvr.com/setup-howto
Download and install the „Advanced Installer“ for PC, Mac or Linux.
Start Sidequest
Sign in
Click „Open Setup Instructions“
Follow the instructions
Make sure to restart your Quest after activating Developer Mode!
2. Install VR HOT for Quest
Download the .apk file on our Patreon page. You will always find the latest version including the download links and password in your feed as a separate post.
Open Sidequest, go to the menu bar on the top right and click the folder symbol with the arrow in the menu (“Install Apk file from folder”).
3. Start VR HOT
Put on your Quest VR headset
Open the App Library in the Quest MenuClick the folder icon with a question mark on it on the left hand side
Start VR HOT
The Room Setup for Passthrough should start automatically on the first start of VR HOT
To open it manually, go to Settings > Environment Setup > Space Setup in your Quest menu

Do I need a PC or Mac to install VR HOT?
First of all, you will need Sidequest to install VR HOT on your headset. As far as we know this should be possible using a third party app called „Mobile VR Station“, here is a tutorial we found. Disclaimer: We haven’t tested this. We can’t officially suport it. So try at your own risk!
