Hi everyone!
Thanks a ton for sticking with me 🧡 It's been a long and difficult, but also exciting project! It's been a while since the last update and I've been working hard on getting the video done. I wanted to take a moment to show you where it's at right now.
I've been trying to find better ways to produce longform animations. I've gone from doing everything in one go, to doing everything in scenes but still complete each scene before going to the next, to now working in scenes but have multiple stages for the entire project. I believe each iteration on the process has made me faster and better at my work, but also more ambitious, so it still takes me a long time. I think after this one, I want my next project after this one to be short but sweet 😅
My workflow right now is:> Planning> Rough Hand Animation> Polishing Animation and Adding Detail> Effects (Destruction, Cloth, Fluids, etc.)> Lighting and Rendering> Sound
And finish each step before moving on to the next.
At the moment I'm done with the rough animation of the entire project and I'm working on polishing the animation and adding facial expressions. The animation stage is definitely my toughest challenge and I expect the rest to flow more easily.
Here's a few shots from the new animation. Be aware that some of this looks a little off xD I suppose it's a natural part of animating are things sometimes look very off until they don't.
I built up this wall and the floor with individual bricks and tiles, to be destructible! I guess we'll see how well that goes, but I'm pretty excited to show you some fun impactful destruction 👀
I've also been wanting to add some clothes to the characters. Chance is a DJ at the club they're coming out of and I wanted him to have some comfy but fun clothes. I think I'll use shorts on him instead, but I think I'll keep the cute crop sweater 🧡
Chance taking some charge of the situation... Seems that growing boosts his confidence a little too ~ This shot definitely needs some work with eyes and expressions!
Good thing that Jay isn't too small to enjoy Chance's growing... assets 😇 I want to add more dynamic movement to Chance's ass in this shot and I think he might still have shorts on... I guess we'll see if they last this long xD
I knew I wanted Chance to kneel down and fill up the alley. This shot does that pretty well I feel ^^ Definitely become my favorite shot despite the difficulty of animating Jay on the ground.
I've found a few places to cleanup and add to, then I'll move on to effects! I've posted a development blog with a few more details on which things I need to add, as well as a more complete WIP video.
I can't wait to show you the effects and the finished video as well. Definitely the biggest undertaking I've ever done and I hope it'll be worth the wait!
