Getting Started
Welcome to HellScape! If you've been looking for sci-fi, Modern, Cyberpunk, and Post-Apocalyptic battlemaps, Dungeondraft assets and supporting media, you've come to the right place.
As a Patron, this post should be all you need to get started. You can follow the HellScape Twitter for smaller updates and subscribe to this YouTube channel for occasional tutorials, guides, and information about all things HellScape
HellScape offers a selection of free icons, battlemaps, and tiles, which you can find via the 'free' tag.
Patrons help enable HellScape to build a growing archive of battlemaps. Many can be found in the free section, but supporters have access to alternative versions and pre-built scenes designed to drop directly into Foundry VTT and including walls, lights, and soundscapes. Take a look at the Battlemaps tag for more.
Below you will find a comprehensive listing of asset packs. All downloads are at the very end of this page!
The HellScape universe is a continuum that includes overlapping elements between sci-fi, modern, cyberpunk, and post-apocalyptic themes. You may wish to explore packs beyond your game's theme to find even more useful assets.
HellScape - Airship
Primary Theme: Scifi
Status: Released - v1.0 Free, v2.x Patrons Only
Good for: Space ships, submarines, airships, underground bunkers, high-tech facilities
Note: You want this pack. It has a little bit of everything, so don't skip it!
The base pack that ties everything together. Airship is filled with metal floors, steel walls, and stainless steel furniture. It has stoves, toilets, bedding, containers, and more. If you run a game that touches on any of HellScape's themes, you will want to have Airship installed.
HellScape - Tech Ship
Primary Theme: Scifi
Status: Patreon Only
Good for: Space ships, space stations, fighter craft, civilian starships, very high-tech facilities, Very high-tech airships or submarines.
Tech-ship has turbo lifts, sweeping touchscreen consoles, clean starship flooring, and main reactor components. You can build Federation, Colonial, and generic ships, with parts inspired by popular culture. Tech Ship is the most popular asset pack by far.
HellScape - Scrapers
Primary Theme: Modern/Post Apocalyptic
Status: Patreon Only
Good for: Modern office buildings, warehouses, gas stations, bars, and other commercial spaces. Includes clean and ruined/apocalyptic versions of most assets. Has an extensive collection of rooftop objects.
Some things never change. Paper, office chairs, and glass windows may still find a good fit in your setting. Scrapers is essential for both modern and post-apocalyptic settings.
HellScape - Military
Primary Theme: Modern, near future, a little WWI Trench Warfare
Status: Patreon Only
Good for: Building modern and near-future military facilities, outposts, and battlefields.
Barbed wire fences, wood and rope training areas, and heavy weapons fill out this pack. Like Scrapers, most objects have a version meant to be found by lone survivors in distant dead futures.
HellScape - The Wastes
Primary Theme: Post Apocalyptic
Status: Patreon Only
Good for: Ruined cities, dead open fields, road networks, sidewalks
The Wastes continues on where Scrapers left off, providing rubble, broken concrete, and the rotting corpse of a dark and ugly future. Some of the provided road-related assets will be useful for modern, sci-fi, and Cyberpunk settings. A slew of colorable destroyed cars are essential for filling Earth's dead cities with the desolate traffic one would expect.
You will also find mutated, radioactive plant life, and several powerful height-blending terrain materials.
HellScape - PlanetSide
Primary Theme: Scifi
Status: Patreon Only
Good for: Solar and extrasolar planets, habitats, and outposts
Dedicated to all explorers, PlanetSide aims to provide terrain, walls, and objects for building moon, mars, and extrasolar planet side outposts and cities.
HellScape - Cyber
Primary Theme: Scifi, Cyberpunk, Modern
Status: Patreon Only
Good for: Cyberpunk cities, outposts, businesses, and more.
Cyber will focus on the unique flavor that the Cyberpunk genre embodies, from the tabletop/computer game of the same name to classics like Blade Runner.
HellScape - Xeno
Primary Theme: Scifi, Spacehulk, Alien
Status: Patreon Only
Good for: Mutated radioactive wastelands, organic alien ships, advanced alien civilizations and their starships.
Alien ships, other worlds and mutated flora will be offered in Xeno. Inspired by science fiction and radioactive visions of the future, this pack tackles the organics of HellScape.
HellScape - Crystal Palace
Primary Theme: Modern/future
Status: Released
Good for: Alien ships and locations for races far more advanced. Crystal Palace can help represent aliens who are so far beyond us that their technology seems almost magical. Perhaps they grow their ships and buildings out of crystal.
HellScape - Stellar Cartography
Primary Theme: Space!
Status: Patreon Only
Good for: Building space backgrounds and solar system maps.
HellScape - UI
Primary Theme: Graphical Unser Interfaces and Maps
Status: Patreon Only
Good for: Annotating space maps. Adding UI elements to a VR environment.
HellScape - VR
Primary Theme: Digital realms like VR, or Cyberspace
Status: Patreon Only
Good for: Non-physical environments. Deck plans. Pairs well with UI
There are many more assets on the horizon. Here are some of the Dungeondraft asset packs currently in the planning phase, in no particular order.
HellScape - Residential: More mundane but no less useful objects. This pack will cover everything you need to build a modern house or apartment.
2023 Note: There are a lot of residential assets in Scrapers! This may not be spun out into a new pack. If you need modern residential stuff, start with Scrapers and The Wastes.
VTT Tiles
Damaged and undamaged cars trucks and vans. Bicycles, scooters and more. Find all of the virtual table top tile downloads in this dedicated post.
Scifi Vehicles
Kicking off the new tiles collection, you'll find a single-seat space fighter and a generic science fiction shuttle. Want to build your own? Here's a time-lapse video of how I make them! The only step not covered is a bit of polish in photoshop.
