DESCRIPTION

Hey everyone and welcome to a development blog for Vanilla Landmarks Expanded. It is finally time I can shed some more light onto it!

RimWorld: Odyssey has introduced a phenomenal concept of landmarks. They are essentially like genes, but on map tiles. Every map tile can have several mutators that together form a sort of landmark. It's also possible for those mutators to exist separately, without a landmark too, to improve map generation and exploration ability!

In Vanilla Landmarks Expanded, we naturally want to make the exploration aspect and the world generation aspects better. We attempt to do this by adding a bigger variety of locations, so that every time you play, you will encounter something new, something unique.

Firstly, we focus on natural landmarks - things that mother Nature herself can create. In later installments, we will focus on man-made landmarks, such as abandoned cities and so on. But first - actual natural terrain!

Right now I have commissioned a new hero image for the mod to beautify the preview image (it will take a week or something for the hero image to be ready).

The content of the mod is more or less finished, and it's been undergoing testing for a week and a half now. This means it's time for infographics.

For the infographic style, I tried to recreate the Google Maps UI, since it fits, I think. So far I've only done a handful of infographics but I'm excited to share them with you!

In total, the mod offers 59 unique landmarks you can explore. Each landmark has one or several new mutators too! To put it into comparison, the base game only has 41 landmarks - which means in total, the number will be a beautiful one hundred.

As for other news, Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Security is release ready and will be out tomorrow! We are encountering small delays in some of our development, as one of our best programmers is suffering constant power outages in Ukraine, so things may take slightly longer, but the release for Security is prepped and ready for me to press the big green button!

We're also continuing the development of Vanilla Weapons Expanded remake, which will be entering testing soon. I'm also constantly designing Chapter 2 of Vanilla Gravships Expanded, but recently I have made a decision to push some content forward and release an update for Vanilla Gravships Expanded - Chapter 1! I need those compact high-tech research benches!

Let me know how you guys and gals are doing, and I will be back tomorrow with a mod release post!
