Bwomped commission of a paper-like character. The descriptions "bwomped" and "paper-like" may seem to be in conflict with each other, but that is just weak-minded three-dimensional thinking. I did have to create a maquette for reference though. Paper dolls have surprisingly complex forms to draw--especially if you want a specific pose.
Additionally, this character has a holographic sheen, like a sticker. This effect appears much stronger when on top of darker colors, but it's still here and required some r&d to get working. Rather than paint it all myself, I created a gradient map based on holographic colors. The effect is a lot of fun to mess with, so I might use it again at some point. You can also apply a halftone filter for some extra cool effects, like on that star.
