... for one year on Patreon! I genuinely cannot believe it's been a year* since I opened my Patreon, the time really has flown by and so much has happened.
*it's been over a year; I hadn't realised the 1 year anniversary passed. Whoops :P
For those of you who have been pledged for a year I'm planning to make some personalised cards that'll be mailed to you. If you've been pledged since November - January, or you've made a one year pledge keep an eye out on your inbox for a message about the details <3
(For those of you pledged since Feb, etc you'll also receive a message about details when that month comes up. Everyone who's pledged for a year can get a letter when the time comes around!)
In the last year, I achieved my high-school/early 20s ambition of getting into medicine, which - wow! Sometimes I still can't believe that happened. I've already completed my first year too (because the southern hemisphere academic calendar starts in Jan/Feb) so I only have 5 years left! (lol)
On YouTube, we also blew waaaay past 10 000 and 25 000 subscribers, which also still blows my mind to think about. If you told me in August 2020 (when I started listening to RedactedASMR/Ellis Audio/Salem Audio, my main inspirations) that I would have a YouTube channel like theirs a year later I would've laughed at the statement.
So, once again I'd like to say thank you all so so much for your support! It really means so much that people care enough about my audios that they'd want to make a pledge. Because of medicine I had to move away from home, plus the hours and other factors getting a 'normal' casual/part-time job has been virtually impossible. That means Youtube/Patreon is my part-time job, for which I am immensely grateful for the opportunity, but also to you all who are the people who make it happen. So for the last time - thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart.
On a similar note, the holiday season is upon us, which means finances might become difficult - so if you need to drop Patreon that's totally fine! Please take care of your mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and the end to 2021!
With love,
Auth
(Post scriptum - bc it's a fair bit pensive lmao)
If there was one thing I wish I could have changed though, is that I wished I worked harder on YouTube. There were months where I hardly uploaded, and it was only recently that I realised I haven't stepped out of my comfort zone at all in terms of writing/scripting and voicing characters. I believe that being static in my development as a content creator has had a negative effect on my YouTube channel. But! We live and we learn, and I hope I continue to develop my writing and become a better content creator in the process <3
