Dear legions, A part of insights in what we do when working with ELEINE is also to of course know into detail what we are using, what we would like to use and just extra details that really can do such a huge difference for the stage appearance even if it's something that maybe never crosses your mind - but it is the entire view of us on stage that gives you an impression, and to create that you have to work with details! One detail we have worked on a lot lately for the headliner show taking place later this year (updates hopefully comes soon, it will be awesome!), is the drums. Drums is a center piece on stage, it should look cool, big and epic. Don't you agree? I am not a drummer myself, but my oh my how I can appreciate a pair of majestic cool looking and great sounding drums! It's a throne! So, our kit has looked like this for a while:
Screen shot from the "We Stand United" music video. Kit looks cool, but we always strive to update things to reach "the next level".. of epicness, of course πStep 1: We want a SECOND bass drum. Symmetry is always very lovely for the eye, don't you agree? So here's the fun annoying fact: The drum kit we have, was discontinued years ago. It is a TAMA Superstar Hypedrive, and the hyperdrive means that the toms are basically not as deep as a regular standard tom = Way better for metal and fast playing like in our songs! The first step for us was to try and hunt down a extra bass drum second hand, which would be impossible - why would someone just sell the bass drum? We knew we had to save money for a full kit second hand. We started doing this early last year.. it has been a while. It's been close sometimes but the finish has been wrong, the newer version of the kit looks similar now aint fully the same.. we knew we had to keep our cool and see when the opportunity showed up! The chasing continued! At the end of last year there was an add. THERE IS THE KIT! But.. it was in the north of Sweden. I threw away the question if this guy would consider shipping it if he could get boxes and make it safe! He was an outstanding dude and he agreed, and he packed it so very well!
Look how well he packed it! We managed to find a good shipping deal with DHL and it was delivered in perfect condition! Barely used also... πWe got the kit for a good price as well, so now we have 2 bass drums + back up toms for the other parts in case something would ever happen! How great! Step 2: A drum rack! What the hell is this you may ask, but let me show you an example! This is not our - I just borrowed a photo as an example from the interwebz π€
Instead of using stand alone stands, you can mount a very professional and good looking rack from brands like Gibraltar, Tama, Yamaha etc. This is not only better looking through all aspects, it is also way more practical! It goes way faster when on tour and our eyes landed on the drum rack from Yamaha because it has a special look that suits us the best compared to the others! We have just ended our studio recordings and have mix & master coming up, so right now the expenses are quite high. This is something we would love to have for the next headliner tour, and it really is a priority. For a while we have had stagelights (on my Throne wishlist), and the truss for stage light (on Rikard's Throne wishlist), so instead of that crowdfunding we have had, we have decided to change that crowdfunding into this drum rack! It will be a total of 1000β¬, since some of you have already contributed to the stage lights we have some funding already! Thank you guys so much! π«Άπ₯ If you want to contribute to the crowdfunding, you find it HERE! β¨ EDIT: goal is reached! Thank you so incredibly much! There is another crowdfunding going on for the Eleine HQ β¨ Disclaimer: Even if on my Throne, the money will go to the drumrack and not me, of course. By using one of our Throne's we are avoiding the fees from the crowdfunding platforms to be more efficient. Here is a computer made mock-up of how we intend the drum kit to look like with the new drum rack. Would love to hear your thoughts - do you like it? Do you see the massive difference between using stands and rack? Always curious to hear your thoughts β€οΈWith love ,Madeleine
