Coming This Week to Digital Foundry (Week 21 2026)
DESCRIPTION

Hello there and welcome to the latest weekly update from the team at Digital Foundry. You may have noticed that we've just gone live with our first video on 007 First Light. We've not had long with the game, we've still not received Xbox, but we hope that what we've done is enough to at least establish the game's technological credentials before a prospective purchase.

Kudos to Oliver for working over the holiday weekend to deliver the video (and indeed to John who spent a lot of time over the weekend in putting together our big technology video, coming later this week) and we can only wish that we'd got the game earlier.

Still, let's talk #content eh?

Rich (ie me) is working on embargoed content right now, but our highly detailed Forza Horizon 6 PC review with optimised settings should be coming very soon. Credit to Rayan not just for putting together the settings selection but in also producing his first full DF edit. I'm presenting this one, but believe me, the vast bulk of the work is his.

I guess I spoilt things a bit in the intro but John is working on our big 007 First Light video. With PS5 Pro as the foundation, it's an exploration into the upgraded Glacier engine. Oh, and as we're talking Bond, the next episode of the DF Retro Super Show quote-unquote drops on Sunday and it's a look at 007 games released during the PS2 era!

Oliver will be working on our next Q+A show next (primarily discussing Unreal Engine 6) but will be looking at 007 First Light on Xbox. He's also interested in a Switch 2 vs iPhone 17 Pro showdown!

Tom is currently working on embargoed content - nothing crazy or exclusive and it is a game you've seen before, just to set the appropriate expectation levels! Tom may well be moving onto the Dark Souls 2 path tracing video as it's unlikely Alex will be able to complete it.

Will continues to mastermind the website side of the equation and had his first meeting with our merch suppliers today with a view to getting this back on track. We've got a new product coming very, very soon.

Alex is going to be away until we see real progress with his back issues, which are still causing him a lot of pain. He has the full support of the team in putting recovery first.

So at this point, it's over to you - feel free to pose your questions, suggest projects or recommend games we should look at! Thanks as ever for supporting Digital Foundry1
