Well hello there! Just a quick note to say that we'll be taping DF Direct Weekly #271 tomorrow morning and it'll be John, Rich (ie me) and Oliver at our respective microphones. Deadline for submissions will be 8am BST Friday and here's what's on the dockets.
Of course, lead story is Sony's 2028 exit from physical media. John isn't happy, nobody's happy really. Does this mean that PlayStation 6 will indeed be "adorably all digital"? Where does the PlayStation handheld fit in? And... man... who was in charge of the messaging on this, announcing the end of physical media in the same blog post as discussing the shuttering of the PS3 and Vita digital stores?!
Other topics: we'll be discussing Sony's apparent statements on not providing meaningful subsidies for new PlayStation hardware, Tom Warren's report on Xbox's alleged disc2digital scheme, new evidence of a Sharp Nintendo Switch 2 display and there's a good chance we'll be looking at an intriguing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth mod for PC.
