Update: Just a quick bump, a last prompt to get your questions in. Deadline is 8am BST Monday morning!
"Welp," as John would say, here we are, almost preparing for the worst with the upcoming DF Direct Weekly #272 and its companion Q+A show. What more unearthly horrors will be unleashed as we discuss the latest gaming and technology news? At this point, we just don't know.
Here's what's on the docket, at least. We'll be looking at the new Doom The Dark Ages: Revelations DLC before moving onto the latest in the id Software story as the dust starts to settle after Microsoft's assault on one of gaming's most respected, most venerated studios. We'll be talking about the "Don't Kill The Disc" petition as it crosses the quarter-million signature milestone and Sony's continuing lack of any kind of response whatsoever since its tri-paragraph "football to the groin" announcement.
Other topics? We'll be discussing the upcoming arrival of the replaceable battery model Switch 2 in Europe and the end of Switch 1 in the same territory. Meanwhile, against the odds, it does look as though the RTX 50-series Super refresh is happening and specs have emerged from the most unlikely of sources... so what do we expect there? A respite from the hardware misery or more bad news?
So, truth is, I don't like posting negative content. I've been in this industry long enough to know that when you feed an audience that likes your content a stream of negativity, you ultimately risk making them cynical or even hateful of the pastime they love. So at this point, if you do have anything positive you'd like us to add to the topic list, please feel free to suggest it. We could certainly use it! Beyond that, your comments and questions are always welcome.
Deadline is 7am BST tomorrow (taping early as we've got another UK heatwave to contend with) and final deadline for the Q+A Show will be Monday at the same time. It'll be Rich (ie me), John and Oliver on the panel.
