Update: In the wake of the odd Bethesda "let's tweet out all of our plans" update, we're curious about your comments and questions. We'll be taping the next Direct Q+A show tomorrow, so feel free to submit your input before the 8am BST deadline! Of course, it's not just about Bethesda and the Xbox Reset - pose any questions you like.
OK, sorry about the lateness - it's been another big day. Still, we have prepared talking points and topics for DF Direct Weekly #273 and here we are! Panel is yet to be confirmed but we'll be talking about the transition to console digital libraries, the lack of rights, the lack of ownership and - as demonstrated this week with the shocking case of Joshua Khane - the fact that it can all be taken away from you through no fault of your own. So a lack of recourse too.
Khane got his account back, but it took a social media storm and something akin to a public shaming of Microsoft for it to happen. We'd like your input here: how do the platform holders need to change? Does there need to be regulation or actual lawsuits? Don't worry - it's only the future of console gaming at stake!
Beyond that, there's hope for profound Dragon's Dogma 2 optimisation as Capcom prepares a Switch 2 version, Dying Light: The Beast has been cancelled for last-gen consoles, and we'll have a mini-review of the new Ryzen 7 7700X3D. Possibly we'll talk about nascent PS5 emulation on PC and as we dip into Will Judd's DF time capsule website, it turns out we revealed the Tegra X1 as the SoC of choice for Nintendo Switch ten years ago. We'll be talking about how we broke that story back in the day.
As usual - topic suggestions, comments (especially on digital libraries) and questions are welcome! Deadline for inclusion in the main Direct is 8am BST tomorrow, 8am Monday for the Q+A show. Thanks in advance for your valued input!
