Good morning! And I'm sorry! I've been gradually shifting to much longer videos than I used to, which are often difficult to finish within a month. I'd originally switched to Per Video because I'd missed months in the past, but back then most videos were smaller projects (under 20 minute videos). Now that projects are semi-consistently ending up as larger timesinks, missing months is becoming a regular occurrence. Additionally, over the course of this month I've developed some hand pain while working on the next video (another big project) requiring me to take a break from extended intense gaming sessions (you know, precisely the kind that VG Myths requires), so midway through the month I put it on hold and switched to a much less intense project that, nevertheless, will definitely not reach the end-of-December deadline. It's really not in the cards for me to get out a video every month any more, and paying the bills is becoming more difficult without a consistent monthly revenue stream.
Because of this, I'm considering changing to charging monthly on Patreon, but I'd like to get an idea of how this sounds to current Patrons.
For this poll: would you or would you not remain a Patron if charges were changed from Per Video to Monthly, and without the guarantee that videos will come out each calendar month? I promise that this will not change how much time I spend working on videos, and I'll still be attempting to get a video out roughly every month. It's just not a schedule I can realistically meet consistently if I keep doing bigger projects.
Consider this message a one month notice that this change will go into effect by the end of January, if I do decide to make the change. It's still not conclusively determined yet.
Also don't worry, there will at least be a video by the end of January, assuming my hands don't fall off.
