The long awaited origin story of Esma and Ika's first date.
—
Esma had a plan.
It wasn’t just a plan. It was a schedule, a backup schedule, and a mental flowchart of conversation topics arranged by likelihood of awkward silence.
Step one: casual meet-up at campus, as if this were a normal outing and not the most important event of her academic career.
Step two: suggest a short walk.
Step three: naturally lead Ika along the coastal trail.
Step four: arrive at the hidden beach cove that almost nobody knew about.
Step five: sunset.
Step six: sit together.
Step seven: maybe—maybe—hold hands.
Step eight: do not panic. Do not say anything weird. Do not accidentally confess love in a way that sounded like a medical emergency.
It was perfect.
She had even checked the sunset time twice. Clear skies. Light wind. Romantic but not hair-destroying. She’d brought a blanket folded neatly in her bag, two drinks, and a list of safe conversation topics that absolutely did not include the words “crush,” “feelings,” or “I have liked you since second semester.”
Now all she had to do was survive the next two hours.
Beside her, Ika was humming as they walked down the narrow path toward the cove, occasionally kicking small stones, nearly tripping twice, and smiling like she had personally ordered the good weather.
“This place is already amazing,” Ika said, leaning forward to peer through the last gap in the rocks. “You really found a secret beach?”
Esma allowed herself a small, proud smile.
“Yes. Hardly anyone comes here.”
She stepped out from between the rocks.
And stopped.
There was someone already sitting on the sand.
Not just someone.
A woman with long white hair, a pristine lab coat, a metal case open beside her, and at least six glass bottles stuck upright in the sand like decorative plants.
The woman looked up immediately.
She smiled.
Not a normal smile.
A business smile.
Esma felt her perfect plan disintegrate on a cellular level.
‘No. No no no no. This is not happening. This beach is empty. It is statistically empty. I checked. Who brings laboratory equipment to a hidden romantic sunset location?’
Before Esma could decide whether to apologize, retreat, or simply dissolve into the ocean, Ika waved.
“Hi!” Ika said brightly. “Sorry, um—this might be a weird question, but would it be okay if we used this spot? We kind of came here for a little getaway.”
Esma stared at her.
‘Little getaway? LITTLE GETAWAY? Ika, please, my heart cannot survive honest language right now.’
The woman closed her case with a neat click and stood up smoothly.
“No problem at all,” she said, her accent soft but difficult to place. “In fact, your timing is excellent.”
Her eyes moved between them, sharp and curious.
“I am Wan-Ting,” she continued. “Magical scientist. New to this city. Currently establishing local clientele.”
Esma’s brain paused.
“…Magical?” she repeated weakly.
Wan-Ting nodded once, completely serious.
“Potions of transformation, even enhancement-based, emotionally supportive ones if required. Since you are my first customers, I will provide complimentary samples.”
Before Esma could say “we are not customers”, “we did not agree to this”, or “this sounds illegal”, Wan-Ting reached into her case and placed two small glass bottles into her hands.
One had a pink label.
TIDDY POTION
The other had a peach-colored label.
BOOTY POTION
Esma stared at them.
Then at Wan-Ting.
Then back at the bottles.
Her perfect sunset date had, somehow, become a promotional event.
Wan-Ting handed them a business card.
“They are 100% without side effects… I think,” she said calmly. “and the results will be clear immediately. Word-of-mouth appreciated. Have fun~”
She gave them the same unsettlingly professional smile.
Then she walked past them, up the path, and disappeared between the rocks.
The beach was silent again.
The ocean moved gently.
The sky was still clear.
The sunset would still be beautiful.
Esma stood frozen, holding two extremely questionable life decisions.
Behind her, Ika leaned closer.
“…Okay,” Ika said, barely containing a laugh. “Can I assume that she wasn’t part of your plan?”
Esma closed her eyes.
“My plan,” she said slowly, “did not include a magical enhancement vendor.”
There was a pause.
Then Ika’s grin widened.
“But,” Ika said, “this might actually be the most memorable date ever.” Then picked up the two bottles and turned them in her hands, reading the labels again with growing amusement.
“You know,” she said thoughtfully, “it’s kind of rude to get a gift and not use it.”
Esma, who had been very carefully pretending the bottles did not exist, froze.
“Ika.”
“What?”
“We do not know what’s in those.”
“They’re potions.”
“Yes, I heard the part where the magical scientist on a deserted beach said that.”
Ika giggled, completely unconcerned.
“Well, then which one do you want?”
“I don’t want either one.”
Ika tilted her head.
“Really?”
“Yes.”
A pause.
Then Ika’s grin widened in the way that meant Esma’s evening was about to become significantly more complicated.
“In that case,” Ika announced brightly, lifting the pink bottle, “I’ll take the tiddy potion. And the other one’s yours!”
Esma pinched the bridge of her nose.
“…Okay,” she said carefully. “But only one condition.”
Ika paused mid-uncork. “Condition?”
“One gulp,” Esma said firmly. “At most. We don’t know what’s in there.”
Ika considered this for exactly half a second.
“Deal!”
Before Esma could reconsider her life choices, Ika took a quick swallow.
Esma hesitated.
The peach bottle sat in her hand.
‘This is ridiculous. This is absolutely ridiculous. Nothing is going to happen. This is probably just juice. Or flavored water. Or a very elaborate prank.’
She took the smallest sip she could possibly manage.
It didn’t matter.
Warmth spread through her almost immediately.
“…Oh,” Esma said.
The warmth moved downward.
Very quickly.
Her balance shifted.
“…Oh.”
The back of her shorts tightened.
Then tightened more.
Then very suddenly there was nowhere for the fabric to go.
Her hips pushed outward.
Her thighs pressed together.
Her center of gravity dropped as her lower body grew heavier, fuller, thicker by the second.
“IKA,” Esma said, voice climbing rapidly toward panic, “something is happening.”
Behind her, Ika burst into laughter.
“Esma—oh my gosh—”
Esma turned, or tried to, which was significantly harder than it had been ten seconds ago.
Her shorts strained audibly.
Her thighs had thickened enough that they brushed firmly together, and her hips had widened so much she felt like she was sitting even while standing.
“This is not funny!” Esma said, grabbing at her sides as her lower body finished settling into a dramatically rounder shape. “This is not…! This is… my clothes are not designed for this!”
Ika wasn’t listening.
Because Ika had her own problem.
“Wait,” Ika said between giggles. “Wait, wait, wait—”
Her shirt stretched.
Then pulled tight across her chest.
Then tighter.
Then very suddenly it was doing less “shirt” and more “structural suggestion.”
Her breasts swelled rapidly, rising and pressing against the fabric, which strained heroically as the curve beneath it grew larger… and larger… and then larger still.
Ika looked down.
Then up at Esma.
Then back down.
Then she started laughing even harder.
“They’re still going!”
Esma stared.
She had, in her life, seen a wide variety of body types.
What Ika was currently approaching did not belong to any category she was familiar with.
Her shirt was stretched so tight it looked painted on, the size of her chest having grown to proportions Esma would previously have described as “theoretical.”
After a few more seconds, the growth finally slowed… then stopped.
There was a moment of silence.
Ika bounced slightly in place.
Her entire upper half reacted.
She clapped a hand over her mouth and wheezed with laughter.
Esma, meanwhile, attempted to take one step.
Her expanded hips shifted.
Her thighs pressed together.
Her balance wobbled.
She immediately grabbed Ika’s arm.
“Ika,” she said, very calmly, “we have made a mistake.”
Ika leaned against her for support, still laughing.
“This is amazing.”
“This is not amazing. My leg is thicker than a tree trunk now.”
Ika tried to straighten, failed, and leaned into Esma’s side instead.
Her eyes were bright.
Her grin was unstoppable.
“Sounds like something amazing to be honest!” Ika laughed.
Esma stared at her. “Amazing is not the word I would—”
“Maybe I should try yours too.”
“What?!” Esma’s voice jumped an octave. “Are you crazy?!”
Ika tilted her head, completely cheerful.
“About certain things? Yes.”
Before Esma could react, Ika snatched the peach bottle straight out of her hands and tipped it back.
“IKA—!”
Too late.
She took a generous gulp.
Esma could only stand there, mouth open in stunned disbelief as Ika swallowed, wiped her lips, and broke into an excited giggle.
“Oh, that’s warm already—”
The warmth hit fast.
Ika bent her knees slightly as the heat rushed downward, her balance shifting again.
And in that exact moment, she noticed something.
Esma was still standing there.
Mouth still open.
Frozen.
Ika’s eyes lit up with terrible, wonderful inspiration.
“Okay! My turn to share!”
Before Esma’s brain could reconnect to her limbs, Ika pressed the pink bottle forward.
The rim met her lips.
Reflex did the rest.
Esma swallowed.
“—Ika.”
The warmth spread instantly.
Upward this time.
“Oh no.”
Her breath caught as the heat pooled across her chest, pressure building beneath her shirt.
The fabric tightened.
Then tightened more.
Then began to stretch in very visible, very alarming ways.
“Ika! You…!” Esma said faintly, gripping the front of her shirt, “Fuuu…! Something is happening again.”
“Same!” Ika chirped.
Esma didn’t have time to process that, because the pressure surged.
Her chest pushed outward, growing fuller, heavier, rising against the fabric as her shirt strained to keep up. The seams creaked audibly.
“That didnt sound good…” Esma whispered.
The fabric pulled tighter.
Then tighter.
Then—
rrrip.
The front seam gave way.
Her shirt split, leaving her bra to take over the entire responsibility of containment.
It held.
Heroically.
Like a soldier who knew retreat was not an option.
Esma stared down in stunned silence as the growth finally slowed… then—
Stopped.
She blinked.
Behind her, Ika was laughing again.
Because her own changes were very obvious now.
Her hips were widening even further, her shorts tightening as her lower body thickened rapidly. Her thighs pressed together, her center of gravity dropping as her backside pushed outward to match the dramatic proportions of her upper half.
“Whoa!” Ika laughed, wobbling slightly. “Okay, that’s a lot!”
She shifted her weight.
Immediately regretted it, as her breasts and ass jiggled like over-eager jello.
Then laughed harder.
Esma should have been panicking.
Objectively, this situation had moved far beyond reasonable beach-date complications.
But Ika wasn’t scared.
Or embarrassed.
She was glowing, laughing, completely delighted by the absurdity of it all.
And somehow…
Watching her like that made the tight knot of panic in Esma’s chest loosen.
The warmth faded.
The changes settled.
The world stopped moving.
For a moment, they just stood there, staring at each other.
Then Ika tried to take a step.
Her balance shifted dramatically.
“Oh no,” she said, still smiling.
Esma instinctively stepped forward to help.
Her own new proportions shifted.
That was also a mistake.
They collided.
Wobbled.
Grabbed each other.
And then—
WHUMP.
They landed together in the sand.
The impact sent sand puffing outward in a wide circle, their newly enhanced proportions sinking them deep enough to leave noticeable craters behind.
For a second, neither of them moved.
Then Ika started laughing again.
Not polite laughter.
Not nervous laughter.
Full, breathless, can’t-stop giggling.
Esma lay there, half in the sand, hair a mess, heart still racing.
She looked at Ika.
At her bright eyes.
At the way she looked completely, genuinely happy.
And despite everything…
Esma felt herself start to laugh too.
“This,” she said between breaths, “was not part of the plan.”
Ika grinned at her from their shared sand crater.
“Some plans are meant to be upgraded~.”
And for the first time since the potions, Esma wasn’t thinking about what had gone wrong.
She was just glad Ika was there.
Before Esma could even try to sit up, she felt something soft and heavy settle into her lap.
She blinked.
Ika had shifted closer, carefully lowering herself until her head rested against Esma’s thighs.
Given their current proportions, the effect was almost ridiculous. Esma’s thighs had grown so wide and plush that Ika’s head looked oddly small in comparison, disappearing comfortably into the space like it had found a perfectly designed pillow.
“Ika…?” Esma said quietly.
But Ika had already gotten comfortable.
She snuggled in a little deeper, one arm wrapping loosely around Esma’s leg. Her chest pressed against Esma’s side as she adjusted, settling with a content little sigh, like this was the most natural position in the world.
For a few seconds, she just lay there, looking up at the sky.
Then she spoke.
“Esma… I’ve actually been thinking about you for a while.”
Esma’s heart skipped.
“I mean,” Ika continued softly, her voice calmer now, the laughter gone but the warmth still there, “you’re just… really cool. You always know what you’re doing. You plan things. You think things through. You take care of people.”
She hesitated, fingers lightly tightening against Esma’s leg.
“And I know I’m kind of… a lot. I’m clumsy. I get distracted. I do weird stuff like drink mystery potions on an outing someone else planned.”
A small, nervous laugh escaped her.
“I know I’m not like other people. I’m a little strange. I get excited about things most people don’t. And sometimes I feel like I’m… hard to deal with.”
She swallowed.
“But even so… I think…”
Her voice softened further.
“I think I might be in love with you.”
The beach fell quiet except for the sound of the waves.
Esma didn’t answer right away.
She looked down at Ika, curled against her, trusting her enough to say something like that while lying in her lap in a crater they had accidentally created together.
Esma took a slow breath.
“Ika,” she said gently, “I know you’re a little strange.”
Ika froze.
“And yes,” Esma continued, a small smile forming, “you’re chaotic. And unpredictable. And sometimes very hard to approach.”
Ika slowly lifted her head just enough to look up at her, worry creeping into her expression.
“Why do you think,” Esma went on, “I planned this date so carefully?”
Ika blinked.
“This wasn’t just any outing,” Esma said, her voice steady but warm. “This was the one that had to be perfect.”
She looked out toward the horizon for a moment, then back down.
“Because this was the date where I wanted to tell you… that I love you.”
For a second, Ika just stared at her.
Complete, stunned disbelief.
Then her expression broke.
Her eyes filled instantly, her face crumpling into bright, overwhelmed tears as she dropped her head forward again, pressing her face back into Esma’s thighs.
“Your date,” she said, voice muffled and shaky with happy laughter, “was already perfect the moment you invited me.”
Esma laughed softly, her own eyes stinging a little.
After a moment, she carefully shifted, helping Ika sit up beside her.
The movement sent sand sliding around them as they adjusted, their newly exaggerated proportions making the process a little awkward, a little slow.
Eventually, they settled shoulder to shoulder, leaning gently against each other.
The sky was already turning orange and gold.
The ocean reflected the light in long, shimmering paths.
Just like Esma had planned.
She glanced sideways at Ika, who was still smiling through damp eyes, resting comfortably against her.
“Okay,” Esma said quietly. “Maybe the plan did work out after all.”
Ika grinned.
“It never failed to begin with.”
And together, with their thighs and curves somewhat larger than originally intended, they watched the sunset exactly as they were meant to.
