When Cardmechanics are made real, weird things start to happen. (Pic Sketched by the amazing KellyMoreGon)
—
The arena looked like a cathedral built by someone who had never seen a cathedral but had heard they were supposed to be dramatic.
Floating stone platforms hung in midair. A glowing battlefield stretched between them like a chessboard made of light. Massive illusionary creatures clashed, spells flashed across the sky, and somewhere far below there was an endless cloudy abyss.
Blanc pinched the bridge of her nose.
Across from her, Vert sat comfortably in a large floating chair that had absolutely not been there a second ago.
Blanc looked around the absurd arena again.
Then she sighed.
“Vert.”
“Yes, Blanc?”
“How the hell did we end up here?”
Vert tilted her head.
“Here? In the middle of the match?”
Blanc gestured broadly at the glowing battlefield, the gigantic summoned creatures, the floating platforms, and the shimmering magical UI panels hovering around them.
“Yes, Vert. Here. In the middle of the match. In the sky. Inside what looks like the final boss arena of an RPG.”
Vert clasped her hands together happily.
“Oh! That’s actually a wonderful story!”
Blanc already regretted asking.
Vert leaned forward excitedly.
“So the other night I was browsing the internet…”
Blanc groaned.
“Where all good ideas start I assume.”
“When I discovered a most fascinating new trading card game.”
Blanc stared at her.
“Okaaaay?”
“Yes!”
Vert snapped her fingers.
A glowing card materialized in front of her as she made the motion of drawing it from her deck.
She shoved the back of the card into Blanc’s face excitedly as if that would make her more likely to read it:
“TAGIC: THE COLLECTING”
Vert looked like she had just discovered enlightenment.
“It’s simply marvelous, Blanc. Strategic depth! Endless deck building possibilities! A thriving online community!”
Blanc crossed her arms.
“And?”
“And I might have gotten a little invested.”
Blanc narrowed her eyes.
“How invested.”
Vert coughed politely.
“Well… First I bought a starter deck.”
“That’s normal.”
“Then several booster bundles.”
“Still normal.”
“Then a premium collector’s bundle.”
Blanc sighed.
“I can already tell where this is going.”
Vert smiled sheepishly.
“And then I purchased the Ultra-Deluxe Hyper-Immersive Online Battle Arena.”
Blanc blinked.
“The what?”
Vert gestured around them proudly.
“This.”
Blanc slowly turned in a circle, taking in the entire absurd magical sky battlefield again.
“You bought an arena.”
“Well yes.”
“With real money.”
Vert smiled innocently.
“Quite a lot of it, actually.”
Blanc's eye twitched.
“Vert.”
“Yes?”
“How much money?”
Vert tapped her chin.
“Well, technically the arena itself was only the base package. But then there were several add-ons.”
Blanc looked like she was about to explode, but then calmed herself, shaking her head.
“I’m not even going to ask how much it was.”
Vert coughed again.
“Yeah, I am not sure you want to know.”
Blanc went silent.
Vert continued happily.
“But the best part is that it includes ultra-realistic card effects!”
Blanc squinted at her.
“What does that even mean?”
Vert shrugged.
“Oh, you know. Visual flair.”
Blanc gestured toward the gigantic glowing entity dominating the battlefield.
“VISUAL FLAIR?! That last thing you played was the size of a building! And this thing is like twice the height of me!”
The enormous radiant construct on Blanc’s side of the field raised its massive sword as if to punctuate the point.
Vert looked at it.
Then sighed dramatically.
“Yes, well… Your Personal Avatar card is proving rather troublesome.”
Blanc crossed her arms smugly.
“Yeah. It’s certainly bigger than anything you have played all game. Are you sure you haven’t built a terrible deck by accident while you were busy spending too much money on a cardgame?”
Vert pouted.
“Hey! My deck is not terrible.”
Blanc pointed at the battlefield.
“You have an angel token that you most definitely only created because you like looking at her boobs and a floating cabbage.”
Vert looked at the cabbage.
“It has potential.”
Blanc shook her head.
“Seriously though. Why did you drag me into this when you can’t even play well?”
Vert clasped her hands together with sparkling eyes.
“Because I needed someone to play with to train!”
Blanc gave her a flat stare.
“I was blackmailed.”
Vert waved a hand dismissively.
“It was not blackmail.”
“You threatened to show everyone the last ranked raid stats from Four Goddesses Online, where I played on like 2h of sleep and lost completely.”
Vert coughed politely.
“I merely reminded you of its existence.”
Blanc groaned.
“I hate you.”
Vert smiled sweetly.
“And yet you’re still playing.”
Blanc glanced down at her glowing battlefield where her massive Personal Avatar loomed over Vert’s pitiful forces.
“…only because I was already here.”
Vert leaned back in her chair confidently.
“Well, regardless, I must admit this match has been most enjoyable.”
Blanc smirked.
“You’re about to lose.”
Vert glanced at her hand of cards.
Then at the battlefield.
Then back at Blanc’s enormous Avatar.
“Yes?”
Blanc folded her arms smugly.
“Good.”
Vert tapped her chin thoughtfully.
“But you know…”
She slowly reached for a glowing card.
“…I might still have a solution.”
Blanc rolled her eyes.
“Oh this should be good.”
Vert placed the card down dramatically.
The battlefield flashed.
The card lit up.
EPIC WISH
Vert smiled.
“Let’s see what I can find.”
Blanc narrowed her eyes.
“…what does that card do?”
Vert grinned.
“Oh.”
She opened a massive glowing interface filled with hundreds of cards.
“It lets me grab any card I own from outside the game and play it.”
Blanc blinked.
“That seems extremely broken.”
Vert started flipping through cards.
“Possibly. The main issue is that whatever I grab is the only card I get to play this turn. And… uhm… I don't really have a good answer to… OH!”
Blanc leaned forward suspiciously.
“…Vert.”
“Yes?”
“Why are you smiling like that?”
Vert held up a card she had just found.
Her smile widened.
“Because I think I may have found something interesting.”
Vert dramatically lifted a glowing card between two fingers like a stage magician about to reveal her greatest trick.
“Behold!”
Blanc groaned.
“Vert, if this is another cabbage—”
“I cast True Polymorph!”
The card flared brightly as it hit the field.
Vert pointed across the battlefield at Blanc’s towering summon.
“Targeting your Personal Avatar!”
The gigantic radiant construct looming over Vert’s side of the field pulsed with magical light.
Vert continued, grandly declaring her intent like she was narrating a tournament broadcast.
“I shall transform it into a perfect copy of my Angel Token!”
A small, elegant winged figure hovered behind Vert’s battlefield, glowing softly.
Blanc stared.
Then blinked.
“…that’s your solution?”
Vert raised her chin proudly.
“It removes the threat… Kinda.”
Blanc leaned back in her chair.
“You’re turning my giant boss monster into a big angel.”
“Yes.”
“That’s… Honestly kind of a weird solution.”
Vert waved her hand dismissively.
“Well it’s the best option I have available at the moment.”
Blanc shrugged.
“Alright. Sure. I guess it works.”
The battlefield began to glow.
Blanc’s Personal Avatar slowly started to change.
Its massive armor softened, its towering shape shrinking and reforming. Light folded inward, wings of divine radiance forming along its back as the construct gradually reshaped into the same angelic form as Vert’s token.
The transformation happened slower than expected.
Almost… strangely slow.
Blanc blinked.
Then suddenly froze.
“Uh...”
Vert tilted her head.
“What?”
Blanc shifted in her seat.
“…why does my back feel weird?”
Vert barely had time to respond.
Blanc’s eyes suddenly went wide.
There was a visible bulge beneath the back of her outfit.
Blanc reached back instinctively.
“What the?”
The pressure grew.
And grew.
And grew.
Then:
PLOOFF!!
Two enormous white wings exploded outward from Blanc’s back.
Feathers burst through the air as the wings unfurled with dramatic force, spreading wider and wider until they stretched nearly the full width of the platform.
Blanc went completely rigid.
The wings flexed once.
Then twice.
They grew larger and fuller until they settled behind her in a massive, beautiful span of snow-white feathers.
Silence hung in the arena.
Blanc slowly turned her head.
“Vert...”
Vert was staring.
Completely frozen.
Eyes wide.
Her gaze slowly traveled from Blanc’s face, Down, and back up, before returning to the wings.
Vert whispered in awe.
“You look amazing.”
Blanc’s eyes twitched.
“WHY DO I HAVE WINGS?!”
Vert pointed at the battlefield.
“Well the polymorph effect clearly—”
“VERT.”
Blanc stood up abruptly, the huge wings spreading instinctively behind her.
“I DO NOT REMEMBER YOU TARGETING ME WITH THAT!!!”
Vert continued staring.
Blanc with wings was…
Really.
Really good.
She quickly shook her head and coughed politely.
“Ahem. Regardless. I think it's… Cosmetic? Because I targeted the personal avatar?”
“I swear, Vert, if whatever this is stays for longer than this one game, I am going to smash you with my hammer so hard you will get a one way trip to the center of the earth!”
Blanc slammed her hand onto her deck.
“It’s my turn.”
She drew a card aggressively.
“And when this stupid game ends, I’m going to—”
“Ah!”
Vert raised a finger.
Blanc froze mid-sentence.
“…what?”
Vert smiled sweetly.
“At the beginning of your turn, my Epic Wish triggers again.”
Blanc stared at her.
“…again?”
Vert nodded happily.
“Yes! I get to select another card from outside the game.”
Blanc pinched the bridge of her nose.
“I do not care.”
She waved her hand irritably.
“Just hurry up and pick something.”
Vert smiled.
“Oh I already have.”
She placed another glowing card onto the battlefield.
“Wave of Indifference.”
Blanc narrowed her eyes.
“…and what does that do?”
Vert pointed calmly across the battlefield.
“Targeting your Personal Avatar.”
For a moment nothing happened.
Then—
Blanc suddenly paused.
Vert watched closely.
The change was almost mesmerizing.
The anger on Blanc’s face began to fade.
First the tension left her shoulders.
Then the confusion in her eyes softened.
The frustration.
The irritation.
The rage.
All of it slowly drained away like water leaking from a cracked glass.
Blanc blinked slowly.
Her wings relaxed slightly behind her.
She tilted her head.
“…huh.”
Vert watched in fascination.
It was like someone had turned down the intensity of Blanc’s entire personality.
Blanc looked at Vert calmly.
“What did Wave of Indifference do?”
Vert folded her hands politely.
“It prevents certain creatures from attacking this turn.”
She gestured to the battlefield.
“Including your Personal Avatar.”
Blanc nodded thoughtfully.
“…oh.”
She sat back down in her chair.
“Okay.”
Vert waited.
Blanc shrugged.
“In that case I’ll just end my turn.”
Vert’s smile slowly widened.
Perfect.
Absolutely perfect.
Vert tapped the glowing interface again as the turn indicator shifted back to her side of the field.
“Ah, wonderful. My turn again.”
Blanc sat across from her, wings lazily resting behind the chair now, still looking far more relaxed than someone who had sprouted wings five minutes ago should reasonably be.
Vert cleared her throat proudly.
“At the beginning of my turn…”
Another card materialized in her hand with a flourish.
“Epic Wish triggers again.”
Blanc leaned on her hand, looking thoroughly unconcerned.
“Yeah, yeah. You mentioned that part already. Is this now going to happen until the end of the game?”
“Pretty much. That’s how epic cards work~” Vert opened the enormous virtual binder that contained her entire card collection. Hundreds, no, thousands, of cards shimmered in neatly organized rows.
Vert hummed thoughtfully.
“Now then… What would be the most appropriate play…”
Her finger stopped.
Vert smiled.
“Oh my.”
She pulled one card from the collection and slammed it down dramatically onto the battlefield.
“I play Fill the Treasure Chest!”
The card flashed gold.
Blanc paused mid-turn.
“…huh?”
For a moment nothing happened.
Then Blanc blinked.
“…Vert?”
Vert watched very closely.
Blanc shifted slightly in her chair.
“Vert something feels wei—”
Her voice cut off.
Blanc’s chest twitched.
Very slightly at first.
Then it began to swell.
Slowly.
Vert leaned forward in fascination.
Blanc looked down.
Her chest was rising.
“…uh…”
Her breathing hitched.
The swell continued.
Bigger.
And bigger.
And bigger.
Blanc let out a small, involuntary sound.
“Mmh—”
She blinked in surprise at herself, cheeks faintly coloring.
But the growth didn’t stop.
Her chest pushed outward against her outfit, stretching the fabric as her breasts grew fuller… Rounder… Heavier.
Vert’s eyes sparkled.
“Magnificent…”
Blanc stared down as the expansion continued.
The weight settled heavily against her torso until they were large, soft, and undeniably impressive.
Eventually the movement stopped.
Blanc was now sitting there with a chest that rivaled Vert’s own.
Vert clasped her hands together happily.
“Perfect.”
Blanc slowly looked up.
“… I… uhm…”
She glanced down again.
“What did that card do…?”
Vert answered casually.
“It gave you two very large treasures.”
She picked up two new glowing cards from the air.
“And in exchange I get to draw two cards.”
Blanc nodded slowly.
“…oh.”
She adjusted slightly in her chair.
Then paused.
Her hands moved under her chest.
Vert blinked.
Blanc experimentally lifted them.
They rose in her hands.
Then fell again.
Boing.
Blanc tilted her head.
She lifted them again.
Boing.
Then again.
Boing boing.
Vert watched in complete delight.
Blanc seemed utterly fascinated with the sensation, lifting them slightly and letting them bounce again and again like she had just discovered a brand new toy.
“Interesting,” Blanc murmured calmly.
Vert had to physically restrain herself from squealing.
Eventually Blanc stopped, apparently satisfied with the experiment.
She folded her hands back on the table like nothing had happened.
Vert cleared her throat politely.
“And with that…”
She tapped the board.
“I’ll end my turn.”
The glowing turn marker shifted.
Blanc drew a card.
“Alright then. My—”
Vert raised a finger.
“Oh! One moment.”
Blanc blinked.
“What now?”
Vert smiled sweetly.
“At the start of your turn…”
A familiar glow appeared again.
“Epic Wish triggers.”
Blanc sighed.
“…of course it does.”
Vert opened the collection again.
This time she didn’t browse nearly as long.
“Oh this one will do nicely.”
She pulled a card out.
“I cast Unrivaled Thickness.”
The spell activated instantly.
Blanc froze.
Then—
Her legs trembled.
Vert leaned forward eagerly.
Blanc’s hips slowly began to widen.
The curve of her waist shifted outward.
Her thighs thickened next, expanding with slow, steady pressure that made the fabric of her clothes stretch tightly across them.
Blanc inhaled slowly.
“…huh…”
But the changes continued.
Her hips broadened further.
Her thighs swelled heavier.
Then the real change began.
Behind her—
Her rear began to grow.
Vert watched with sparkling eyes as Blanc’s backside expanded outward, becoming rounder… fuller, and far more generous in size.
Blanc’s breathing slowly deepened.
“Mmm…”
The chair creaked faintly under her as the curve continued to increase.
And increase.
And increase.
Until her now extremely curvy rear barely fit onto the seat anymore.
Blanc exhaled slowly.
“…Vert…”
Vert was already writing notes on a floating interface.
“Fascinating.”
Blanc turned her head.
“And… Uhm… What did that card… do?”
Vert answered calmly without even looking up.
“Anything that deals less than ten damage this turn cannot deal damage at all.”
Blanc giggled softly.
Actually giggled.
Vert paused mid-note.
Blanc smiled.
“Well that means your polymorph actually helped you earlier.”
Vert tilted her head.
“Oh?”
Blanc gestured lazily toward the battlefield.
“My avatar used to deal way more than ten damage.”
Vert smiled knowingly.
“Oh yes.”
She closed her notes and looked up at Blanc.
“That card did so much more than that.”
Vert barely waited for the glowing turn marker to settle in front of her again.
She was already holding the next card.
“Oh gosh,” she said cheerfully. “I want to see this so badly.”
Blanc stretched slightly in her chair, wings rustling behind her and her newly enhanced curves spilling comfortably over the seat.
“Let me guess,” Blanc said lazily.
Vert smiled brightly.
“I play Epic Wish again.”
Blanc sighed.
“Of course.”
Vert opened the massive shimmering archive of her card collection again. This time, however, she didn’t even bother browsing.
“Oh, I’ve already picked this one out.”
She flicked the card dramatically onto the battlefield.
“I cast Gigantic Growth.”
The card exploded with green light.
Blanc blinked.
“…that’s a buff spell.”
Vert folded her hands politely.
“Yes.”
Blanc shrugged.
“Okay? On… on my avatar?”
Then Blanc froze.
Her chair creaked.
“…Vert?”
Vert leaned forward with sparkling eyes.
Blanc’s body suddenly shuddered.
Then she began to grow.
At first it was subtle.
Her legs lengthened slightly.
Her shoulders rose higher.
Blanc blinked as her perspective shifted upward.
“That seems like…”
The growth didn’t stop.
Her feet pressed harder against the floor as her body stretched taller.
Vert quietly watched the numbers appear on the arena’s measurement overlay.
1.8 meters
Blanc’s wings flexed automatically as her balance shifted.
“…like such a bad play…”
2.0 meters
Her knees bumped against the edge of the table.
Blanc pushed her chair back slightly.
“…are you sure… about this?”
The chair groaned loudly.
2.2 meters
Blanc quickly stood up as the seat finally gave up trying to contain her expanding frame.
Her wings spread instinctively for balance.
Vert rested her chin in her hands.
“Oh this is delightful.”
Blanc kept growing.
2.3 meters
Her head now clearly towered above Vert’s.
2.4 meters
Finally the growth slowed.
Then stopped.
Blanc stood there breathing heavily, massive wings rising and falling with each breath.
She was enormous now.
Nearly one and a half times Vert’s height.
Her already enhanced figure only looked more dramatic at this size—longer legs, broader hips, powerful wings stretching behind her like a divine statue brought to life.
Blanc leaned forward slightly, catching her breath.
“…Vert.”
Vert smiled sweetly.
“Yes, Blanc?”
Blanc brushed some hair from her face, clearly flustered but strangely calm.
“…was there any special reason for that? Doesn’t that just win me the game next turn?”
Vert blinked innocently.
Blanc gestured down at the battlefield.
“You know, with the buff from Gigantic Growth. Now I can just thrash through your meager defenses”
Vert nodded.
“Yes… I see what you mean.”
“…that looks like a really awful play then. Are you planning something?”
Vert put a hand to her cheek dramatically.
“Oh my.”
She sighed.
“You’re absolutely right.”
Blanc stared at her.
Vert shook her head sadly.
“I must have completely misplayed.”
Blanc narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
Vert shrugged.
“Well. Nothing to do about it now.”
She tapped the board.
“I suppose I’ll have to end my turn again.”
The glowing turn marker slid back to Blanc.
Blanc drew a card.
She glanced down at the battlefield.
Then at Vert’s side.
Her Personal Avatar was once again the largest threat present.
Blanc smirked slightly.
“Well.”
She rested her hands on the table.
“I guess the game’s over.”
Vert tilted her head.
“Oh?”
Blanc nodded.
“If you don’t play something useful right now, I win.”
Vert smiled.
“Is that so?”
Blanc spread her wings slightly.
“Pretty much. So do it, wish for your last broken card from your binder”
Vert gently placed one more card onto the battlefield.
“Don’t mind if I do!”
The card flared brilliantly.
“…I’ll play Pledge of Eternal Loyalty.”
Blanc blinked.
“…what?”
There was a white flash, causing Blanc to stiffen.
Vert watched closely.
Blanc’s eyes slowly began to cloud.
“…Vert?”
Her voice sounded uncertain.
Blanc blinked again.
“And what does that card… Do… Vert…?”
Vert didn’t answer.
She just watched.
Blanc’s breathing slowed.
Her wings shifted slightly behind her.
“…Vert… Would you mind… Telling me what that card… Does?”
Her voice softened.
“…Lady Vert… Is that card…?”
Blanc swallowed.
Her posture straightened slightly.
“…Mistress Vert…”
The clouds in her eyes grew thicker.
Her expression softened further.
“…Mistress Vert… Might I…”
Then suddenly…
The haze filled her eyes completely.
For one brief moment she went perfectly still.
Then the clouds vanished.
Blanc blinked.
She shook her head once.
Vert opened her mouth to speak, but…
FWUMP
Blanc’s massive wings beat once powerfully.
The sudden gust of wind ruffled Vert’s hair as Blanc lifted clean off the ground.
Before Vert could react, the giant angel had already floated across the arena.
Blanc descended gracefully beside her.
Then slowly lowered herself onto one knee.
Even kneeling, she was barely shorter than Vert.
Her wings folded respectfully behind her.
Blanc lowered her head.
Her voice was calm and filled to the brim with devotion.
“My life… My strength… and my will belong to you, Mistress Vert.”
She placed one hand over her chest.
“I swear my eternal loyalty.”
Blanc looked up at her with unwavering devotion.
“I shall obey you for all eternity, no matter what command you give.”
Vert stared.
For exactly two seconds.
Then—
“EEEEEEEEEEE!”
Vert jumped out of her chair in pure, unfiltered delight.
“I HAVE A GIANT ANGEL SERVANT!”
She grabbed Blanc’s shoulders excitedly.
“You’re perfect! This is perfect!”
Blanc simply smiled calmly.
“Your happiness pleases me, Mistress Vert.”
Vert spun around giddily.
“Oh this arena was worth every credit.”
Then she paused.
Then slowly, thoughtfully, her eyes drifted back toward the still-open Epic Wish card and her collection.
Vert tapped her chin.
“…you know.”
Blanc waited patiently beside her.
Vert scrolled through the card collection again.
“…I wonder…”
Her smile widened.
“…if a Nepdragon… and perhaps a Noiredemoness… Would make a fine addition to my collection.”
Vert clasped her hands together gleefully. The massive, busty and curvy angel of Lowee nodded approvingly.
“It’s time to invite more people to play card games with me!!!”
