The Seraphic System.

Omake.

What If Kai was summoned to the original world of highscool dxd during the meeting between the three Factions?

(The Arrival Of God}

-{Michael}-

Michael sat at the far end of the table, his hands folded neatly on the polished surface.

He calmly took note of everyone present sitting around the wide table.

The much-awaited peace meet had finally come to fruition. The three Factions were having the first such official meeting after a very long time, even for Michael. The last one was held during the end of the Great War.

He still remembered how poorly it had ended. The Cadres and Seraphs had been at each other's throats, especially Uriel. The Devils had straight up mocked them by sending a mere Lord instead of a King to the meet.

This one was much better in that regard, with two Leaders from every Faction in attendance. Surprisingly so, since this meeting had been arranged in a small town called Kuoh, more specifically the Academy that resided there.

A so-called neutral zone for the three factions, since it was owned by the Shinto Faction. He can still feel the sun above glaring at them like they had personally offended it. Or rather her.

Michael sighed in resignation.

Honestly he doesn't approve of this place. If it wasn't for a rather heavy push from Serafall, he wouldn't have agreed to meet here of all places.

The object of his frustrations, Serafall Leviathan, sat nearby, her usual carefree tone subdued.

Azazel leaned back in his chair, pretending to be relaxed, but Michael could tell the man was watching everyone closely. Baraqiel was sitting on the chair behind him, trying to make himself not stand out.

Sirzechs Lucifer, The Crimson Satan, had taken a more serious approach to the meeting as well. His demeanour was subtly different, as if he was standing under a mountain. His power still filled the room in an unsubtle threat. Perhaps it was his way of intimidating everyone even as he smiled.

Father knows that it was probably his most preferred method, judging by the way the younger Devil tried to solve most of his problems. If you didn't know, it was by flaring his power.

Michael wore a calm and peaceful smile. But inside, his feelings didn’t match the ones he was displaying.

Michael felt tired, a tiredness that would have led him to seek death had he not been burdened with so many tasks. He yearned for the old times, when his Father had been around, when he merely played around with his siblings.

A time before the many Gods had even formed.

It wasn’t his age that made him tired, or the fact he had seen most things. No. It was just this constant burden that he carried.

The guilt of his Father’s death and his endless worry for the siblings that hadn’t abandoned him through death or falling. These two things kept pushing him closer to his breaking limit, each passing day.

He didn’t let it show. He couldn’t. He was Heaven’s face now. His Father was gone. The Seraphs were weakened. And the few Angels left were still recovering from battles lost centuries ago.

The truth was that Heaven had fallen behind.

Devils had adapted. The Fallen had built technology. Even the humans had grown bold in their knowledge. But Heaven had stayed still and tried to recover.

He had failed.

His smile never faltered.

He listened to Azazel speak of joint training efforts, of a future where they didn’t all kill each other. Michael nodded when expected. Spoke politely when addressed.

He was defeated.

Seated at the tables of his enemies.

He wondered what Father would think of him now.

Perhaps he could have gone about things a different way. But he had truly tried holding out and exploring all options.

Michael mentally apologised to his Father, hoping he would see that he had tried.

-{Kokabiel}-

Chains clinked faintly as Kokabiel shifted in the underground prison deep below the Fallen headquarters. The cell was silent. No guards. No visitors.

Just him and the stone.

His wings, once proud, were limp. Shackled.

Kokabiel didn’t care about his life anymore. He was done with the war. Done with waiting. He had given everything to prove that peace was worthless. He had tried everything, waiting or hoping that his Father would return and bring judgment to a world that had lost its way.

But no one came.

His last fight had left him broken, beaten, and locked in this cell.

He looked up at the ceiling of his cell, trying to imagine the stars that resided in Earth’s sky. The Star of God. The title he had received. His domain. Lost when he had fallen out of grief and wrath.

How ironic that after falling he had ended up the same as the people he was angry at. Azazel didn't fail to rub that in, when he first met him after his fall.

He stared blankly at the ceiling.

Kokabiel knew his time was up. He couldn’t do anything to get out of this prison. All his energy was being drained from him through complex magical formations. They made it as such, so he couldn’t even try.

It was a good thing he had left behind something in Kuoh. A final gift. One that would hopefully remind everyone that stars didn't just blink out of existence.

They exploded.

When he had realised that his arrogance had led to his downfall, he had engrained it into the land, an action that would have easily been noticed if it wasn’t a bunch of children that had defeated him.

He was sure it would be found soon enough, as he couldn’t power it with magic any further. Right now, it would destroy perhaps half of Kuoh if he detonated it.

It wouldn’t be worthwhile.

If he used his soul however, it’d probably be enough to destroy a percentage of Japan in its entirety. Just as humanity had discovered cutting an atom could make a nuclear bomb, using one's soul as conduit for anything created the highest form of energy.

Just as he was contemplating how he should go about cutting his own soul, a stray thought entered his head. He remembered having a conversation with his big sister Azrael about how sacrificing a potent soul, such as one belonging to a Seraph, could perhaps recreate Father's Miracle of Life.

She had explained to him how all their souls were somehow part of Father's, and how an afterlife for them was all but impossible because their souls would stick to their body even after death, simply because Father had made their bodies and souls as such.

Kokabiel, Star of God, wondered.

He began to pour everything he had left, including his soul into a last ditch effort. Now, it pulsed. He felt the unnatural feeling of his own melding into a shape it was never supposed to take.

His body slumped and started to melt. But his eyes didn’t close. If there was even a chance that his sacrifice could bring Father back, he’d welcome oblivion.

He smiled for the first time in years.

“I’m sorry Father, I know I failed the trust you gave me. Maybe this can make up for it.”

There was a reason none had done this before.

They simply didn’t know if this would work. In fact deep down he knew It wouldn’t. but it was that small minute fraction of a chance that made him do it.

Finally.

A suitable death.

“This world needs God.” He muttered, before his long existence came to an end.

It was true that when stars die, they go out with an explosion. Yet, they also leave behind a new life after their death.

-{Michael}-

Michael sat at the polished conference table, his golden wings folded neatly behind him as he listened to Serafall's latest demands.

Serafall held a passive expression as she began listing the conditions that the Devils were putting out for this alliance.

"And of course, we'll need Heaven to provide additional healing support for the upcoming Rating Game tournaments," Serafall said with that trademark smile of hers. "Just a few dozen of your best healers should suffice."

Michael kept his expression neutral, though internally he felt the familiar strain. A few dozen healers.

As if Heaven's resources were limitless.

Healers were rare. That was a universal truth for even the strongest Factions or Pantheons.

It wasn’t something that could be learnt. It required a certain affinity that not even some of the Arch-Seraph possessed. But Father had blessed Heaven with many healers, and an easy way for them to use the Angelic arts to heal.

Unfortunately only a little over two hundred remained.

"Furthermore," Serafall continued, brushing away a strand of her black hair, "we'd appreciate expanded access to Heaven's territories for business.”

So allowing the Devils to claim more of their territory. Michael thought blandly.

Michael briefly thought about rejecting it but merely stayed put. His jaw tightened almost imperceptibly. Heaven had been struggling to maintain its current commitments, let alone take on additional burdens.

Azazel, seated across from them, raised an eyebrow but said nothing. The Fallen Angel leader seemed content to let the Devils make their increasingly unreasonable requests.

"And naturally," Serafall added with false casualness, "we'd expect Heaven to maintain the current level of support for our joint operations while providing these additional services. The alliance is built on mutual cooperation, after all."

Mutual cooperation.

The phrase tasted bitter. It seemed increasingly one-sided with each additional demand. Heaven was expected to give a whole lot while receiving little in return, beyond promises of continued peace and the deterrent that would come with this alliance.

They could reject this. But the Devils knew they had the advantage. The Evil Pieces had boosted their potential astronomically, allowing them to leech off talented individuals from other races.

Michael opened his mouth to respond, to find some diplomatic way to explain Heaven's limitations without revealing their true vulnerability.

A pulse of energy washed over him.

Everyone in the room went still.

The Devils tensed.

Sirzech narrowed his eyes, the positive look on his face becoming slightly more serious. Serafall pursed her lips, annoyance flashing in her eyes, easy for the ancient Arch-Seraph to read.

Azazel stood up as Baraqiel shielded him, his eyes alert with recognition. While Gabriel merely looked worried.

Michael looked curiously.

Another pulse came, a visible shockwave wrecking the area.

“Kokabiel’s magic signature.” Azazel quickly identified, spotting a massive circle outside.

Sure enough, a massive circle had formed. An amount of power that would take a while to gather so painstakingly into a magical circle was already present.

Azazel's expression was tinged with worry.

“What’s the meaning of this, Azazel?” Sirzech questioned, not outright hostile but a clear firmness hearable in his tone.

“This isn't my doing.” Azazel replied seriously. “Kokabiel must have left it here during his fight.”

From what he had known of the matter, or heard from Irina Shidou, that circle had been created to destroy the entire city. Yet, he could feel this was so much more than that.

He could only watch as parts of the circle moved and reorganized themselves, as if trying to find some new function. They looked like stars moving on the black field of the magic circle.

“This area wasn’t checked?” Serafall questioned.

Sirzech had the audacity to turn slightly bashful.

Michael sighed. It seems like these new Satans were a match for their Ancestors in incompetence as well.

At least this wouldn’t affect Heaven. A well planned out magical array was always dangerous even with as low energy as Michael could sense inside this one.

His power thrummed into his skin, his golden wings glowing brighter and the halo above his head with a flare of heat. He tried to observe the movement of the magical array and noticed a glaring anomaly.

The parts that were switching were also being rewritten. He could watch as the ancient runes written on the array twitched and changed into different letters… That should be impossible. After all Magical Arrays need someone to make these changes–

His eyes widened slightly as he came to a realisation. One that Azazel must have caught onto as well.

Kokabiel had sacrificed his soul. An old powerful soul that had grown immensely in its old age.

No wonder he had immediately taken the threat seriously. With all of them here, they can contain the blast if it was just a City-wide thing. Yet the current energy levels suggested a different outcome.

This would wipe out half of Japan at the very least. Every God within the Shinto Pantheon was probably gearing up for a war.

Michael swore he could see the moon and the sun both glare down at them.

As the letters shifted, Serafall and Sirzech realised the power was much more than they anticipated.

Serafall’s body spiked with demonic power, ice coming to form around her. While Sirzech’s demonic power began raging, the area around him wavering and turning into motes of dust.

“Brother?” Gabriel murmured with concern.

Michael sent her a reassuring glance.

They wouldn’t be hurt.

In fact, most of the blast would be contained.

The Angels, Devils and Fallen that were surrounding the area in the dozens were already powering up to resist the explosion. With two Satans, one former Arch-Angel and two Arch-Angels it would be contained.

Then it changed. Instead of blowing up in a burst of destruction, the power abruptly changed and began collapsing in on itself.

Michael blinked in confusion, as did the rest of the powerhouses gathered around the table.

A gate formed, one that peered through reality.

The dimension gap could be seen, then as if piercing through even that. The energy did something that genuinely baffled Michael. It began calling out in a sense, as if summoning something.

Panic began to grip him.

How had Kokabiel learnt this?

Had he even meant to do this?

Michael knew of the creatures that lurked in the dimensional gap. They weren’t born with the same rules and the power some of them possessed.

He shivered at the memories that flooded his brain the moment his gaze landed on the colours of the gate. The last time Father had dealt with one of them

His jaw clenched.

He put his arm in front of Gabriel, who looked at him with genuine fear.

That’s when he felt it. An energy signature that was familiar. It came out of the gateway, strong and most importantly familiar.

His skin prickled, his heart wavered and his body untensed. His very being felt replenished and that slight tiredness that never disappeared vanished. His eyes widened.

Gabriel burst into an incomprehensible mess next to him. Confirming what he was sensing was real and not an imagination he had conjured out of a deep rooted want.

Sirzech and Serafall looked even more on guard, practically ready to start attacking whatever appeared.

Holy Power began pouring out, making reality itself lighter. Sparks of holy power began flashing in the air from the sheer energy that was filling the area in an outward display.

The clouds above turned golden and the sun disappeared altogether as if afraid of seeing what might appear out of the gate. The atmosphere turned serene, and he could almost hear the bells and trumpets sing to His appearance.

That energy…

He hadn’t felt it in what felt like forever.

Azazel took a step back, his eyes seemingly failing to believe what he was feeling. Baraqiel had to hold his leader but even he was clearly shaken.

“What…” Azazel’s voice shakily said, his composure out of the window.

Serafall sent a sideward glance towards him.

“M-michael.” Gabriel whispered.

“What’s going on?” Sirzech demanded. “You seem to have some ideas as to what is happening. I suggest you think wisely if this is some sort of trick.”

It was more directed at Azazel.

The Devils were obviously nervous and didn’t like being in the dark.

“I assure you this isn’t my doing.” Azazel said, regaining enough of his bearings. “Michael…?”

Michael sent a glance towards him, then merely looked back at the portal soundlessly.

A blue flash of light formed, Vali, who had been looking confused and excited, looked at his arm as the Divine Dividing Sacred Gear formed.

Vali, be careful. Do not even dare look at who may appear.” Albion warned, his voice piercing through the strange silence that had formed.

Serafall and Sirzech sent glances towards Vali.

“Albion?” Vali asked, as if unsure what to make of what the ancient dragon spoke.

Another wave of Holy Power fanned out, capturing everyone’s attention.

It now wasn’t a question. Michael knew. The feeling in his chest. The warmth.

It was Him.

Father’s presence.

The Devils stood confusedly unsure if this was an attack or some other such thing, a barrier had already been erected to protect them from any blast.

Outside their barrier, a figure began to form. A figure that the Fallen Angels could only gawk at, excluding the younger clueless ones and the Angels practically threw themselves at.

He appeared soundlessly, hovering in the sky.

The rift that tore through reality slowly closed into a slit.

“What?” Sirzech questioned, obviously thrown off as he stared at a teenager of immense beauty wearing a billowing Kimono appeared, looking around with a hint of confusion.

Michael stared at him, and he could feel it in his being. The part of him that made him an Angel pulsing happily. Father was somehow back in a different form.

Serafall seemed to shake herself out of whatever stupor that had taken hold, her usual composed demeanor reasserting itself. She straightened, though Michael could see the uncertainty flickering in her eyes.

"Excuse me," Serafall said, her voice taking on a politely formal tone. "I don't know who you are, but you are currently interrupting a highly important diplomatic meeting between the leaders of the Three Factions. This is neither the time nor the place for... whatever this display is supposed to be."

Michael looked at her, noting how she was clearly put off and confused by the situation, trying to regain control through formality and authority.

Serafall, for all her act of being a magical girl, was incredibly competent. She knew how to play the supernatural political game and leverage the Devil Factions supposed power.

So when the boy in the kimono looked down at her with what seemed like recognition. His gaze was calm, almost contemplative, as he simply stared at her without responding.

She was naturally put out.

Serafall's eye twitched slightly at being ignored. "Are you listening to me? You are intruding upon a pre-set meeting, you must understand how this looks?”

The boy looked down at her silently, as if not even considering her words to be worth a response.

"Serafall," Sirzech interrupted, his voice carrying a warning. He'd noticed what Michael had, the way every Angel in the vicinity was reacting, the sheer amount of holy power radiating from this figure. "Perhaps we should approach this with more caution."

Serafall sent him a look. “I understand, and of course I mean no offence. But considering you’ve intruded upon territory that is not yours and you’ve seemingly been summoned by a former enemy, you must understand my caution.”

The boy sighed.

Rias, who had been standing near the back of the room, stepped forward slightly. "Brother, who is that?”

It was meant as a whisper, not to be heard by the boy. Which obviously didn’t work as the boy's attention shifted momentarily to Rias, his expression remaining neutral as he took in the gathering below.

Michael didn’t know what to make of it, he didn’t even know if he should call out or remain silent.

A moment later everything stood frozen except the people within the barrier. Which was to say everyone in the school remained fine, and everybody excluding his Father outside.

Serafall and Sirzech instantly took this attack as his Father’s doing.

“Who are you?” Sirzech asked seriously, his eyes narrowed and his power flared around him.

The boy looked unimpressed.

Michael appeared in front of him, kneeling. Which was hard considering they were both in the air

“Father.”

Everyone, except those who knew and followed him, felt an immense shock pass through them after hearing his words.

-{Kai}-

I stared at Michael passively.

I can’t say this was what I was expecting when I used the world jump ability for the first time. Instead of a different world I had somehow travelled to an alternate reality, or more specifically what looked to be the canon timeline of Highschool dxd.

Rias Gremory and her peerage were present which included Xenovia, along with Asia.

It seemed Michael could still sense who I was.

I looked down at Michael, who knelt in front of me. Then back to the Devils.

I looked over to Irina, who’s eyes were as wide as they could possibly be. She knelt a moment later.

Sirzech and Serafall’s eyes both widened at the revelation. While the Gremory Peerage also looked stunned, most of all Xenovia who looked as if she was on the edge of a breakdown.

It seems I had somehow been relocated to the original timeline of this universe, in the middle of the meeting between the Three Great Factions.

I couldn’t help feeling a mild sense of disappointment and annoyance.

“Michael.” I greeted him, finally speaking.

The older man looked like he wanted to cry.

“Father.”

“H-how is this possible?” Azazel asked, stunned.

The blue-haired girl who I vaguely remembered was Xenovia, stared, her body trembling.

All the Angels in the immediate vicinity came to protectively surround me. It was clear they were confused and emotional, but with a practised effort they suppressed those emotions.

For a second I took the moment in.

The Angels around me snuck glances and there was a tense silence.

My mouth opened only to shut as I suddenly felt a slight shiver as a power attempted to override mine. Purple invaded the world and all of the stronger beings felt it.

Time froze. The power that attempted to snare me bounced off mine as it did with everyone who I quickly deduced as being above the ultimate class realm of power.

Weird.

My chakra eyes scanned everyone.

They all felt… weaker.

Inside, the Devils were the first to react to the freezing of time. Their eyes turned to me.

Serafall and Sirzechs went rigid, their gazes snapping to me with unmistakable suspicion. Sirzechs' crimson aura began to flicker around him as his eyes narrowed, clearly believing I was the source of this disturbance.

The Angels' reaction was immediate.

Michael had been surprised by the abrupt shift for only a moment before the Arch-Angel quickly read the Devils reactions and took a defensive stance directly in front of me, his wings spreading slightly as holy energy began to gather around him.

Gabriel quickly mirrored his position, flanking my other side with her own protective posture.

Azazel looked genuinely baffled, but his body was tense. While the silver-haired older teen next to him, Vali, eyes lit up with excitement, his body language shifting to one of eager anticipation.

Issei stood alert beside Rias, his stance tense and ready for action.

The frozen Angels hung motionless in the sky above us.

Sirzech’s wings unravelled and the Devil floated within the sky.

“I’m not sure what is happening, or who you are. But I can see that you are important to Heaven.” Sirzech started. “If this is your doing, I suggest you stop it.” Sirzech calmly warned.

Michael narrowed his eyes.

My lips curved up.

“Now, why would I do such a thing?” I asked, genuinely amused.

My lackadaisical response served to annoy the two Devils Kings.

The moment was interrupted.

Teleportation circles appeared in the hundreds, making the area alight with the colour they gave off.

I knew what this was, and a part of me was disgusted by it. In this timeline Heaven had to rely on the Devils to survive. I knew that this probably wasn’t fair, but as someone on the receiving end of this… I couldn’t say I liked it.

I watched the teleportation circles pulse.

Then, many cloaked figures in robes of shifting shadow appeared within them.

“Greetings.” Katerea Leviathan announced, an arrogant smirk prominent on her features. “It’s with my pleasure to announce the dissolution of the Three Factions!”

“Katerea, what are you doing!” Serafall demanded.

Sirzech sent a wary glance my way, before turning towards the intruders.

A magical circle formed, demonic energy gathered quickly in a massive amount and an infinity symbol formed. Further boosting the demonic power as it was seemingly amplified and boosted.

Massive magical circles expanded from there and multiple giant writhing black beams of tendrils exploded out of them, targeting the two Satans, Azazel, Gabriel and Michael, and lastly me.

At that moment all of the magicians fired lesser attacks along with that.

Honestly, I had been wondering how to go about this. I hadn’t expected to be summoned in a different version of what was essentially my home universe.

I guess I could have some fun.

A small grin lit up on my lips.

-{Michael}-

Michael conjured a massive dome of crackling holy energy, the air itself shimmering from the searing heat that radiated outward.

As the writhing tendrils bore down on his... Father, Michael stole a glance backward.

The older teenage form that his Father inhabited stood utterly composed, allowing Michael to protect him without concern.

His eyes swept the chaos around them with an almost casual curiosity.

Michael couldn't process any of it.

Moments ago, he'd faced a hopeless situation of finally being required to sign an alliance deal with the beings who killed his Father for the sake of Heaven. Then that had shifted into the heart-wrenching realization that his younger brother had sacrificed his very soul.

He'd began summoning his power for an attack that would require him to put some effort into it.

And now, somehow, Kokabiel had accomplished the impossible, bringing back their Father. It was a rapid sequence of events that had left him baffled and off-guard.

But beyond all that.

He could feel it.

Beyond the sheer power he could sense underneath the surface.

This was his King and God.

Michael had to stop the sheer emotions that threatened to overwhelm him.

The excitement, hope, joy and overpowering sense of protectiveness he felt.

His eyes trailed to Gabriel, whose face was matching his, with how rapidly her emotions shifted.

The massive blasts of demonic-infused tendrils erupted against the barrier with devastating force. Holy power clashed violently against demonic energy, the barrier blazing into a blinding cascade of light.

But there was something else, a purple glow weaving through the attack, amplifying its destructive power.

Michael’s eyes squinted. He wasn’t a sensor, but he knew Katerea Leviathan was weaker than him. So the fact she could even slightly contend with him was surprising.

The barrier buckled. Three beams of writhing darkness pressed forward before the holy light exploded outward, repelling them in a brilliant detonation.

His muscles coiled as he prepared to unleash a counterattack.

Only to watch his Father finally move, a small grin playing across his features.

Michael realised he wasn’t the only one preparing to attack as he saw Azazel preparing, while Sirzech and Serafall had a large magical barrier protecting the entirety of the meeting room.

His eyes quickly went back to his Father.

Before Azazel could retaliate and before Katerea could gather another attack in what seemed like a destructive battle.

“The Three Factions end today!” She laughed, power both of her own and not sparking to life.

Father raised his hand and flicked it almost lazily.

A rumble tremored through the ground below.

Katerea's maniacal smile and wild eyes that were glued towards the two Satan blinked, quickly coming to look below.

Massive thick vines erupted from the ground, wrapping around her ankles and with surgical precision. Spikes dug into her skin and she screamed as all her power began rapidly draining.

Her eyes widened and quickly magical circles began forming around her, channeling demonic power as a massive amount of black tendrils exploded through and attacked the vines.

That only managed to push them back for a second. A large vine smacked her down and she found herself quickly bound, thorns piercing her skin, and vines threatening to pierce her throat, ear and eyes.

She screamed in rage.

His Father held a casual hand up and a rod of light formed, quickly coming to brighten the darkened purple sky like a star. Dazzling sparks of holy light forming around the spear.

Katerea’s head snapped towards the powerful attack fearfully.

Every Devil present flinched at the sheer quantity of holy power being displayed, even as it ebbed at their skin, the holy power remained almost docile. Which worried the two Satans’ even further. Such control and power wasn’t comforting.

Sirzech looked suitably threatened, even more so than the casual annoyance he had regarded this attack with.

Katerea was strong and she obviously had something boosting her power. But this was a different realm of power entirely.

Kateria stared at him horrified.

She struggled, even going as far as to create a blade of water that cut off her arm. Allowing her to move slightly before more powerful energy infused vines imprisoned her.

The rod was sent her way with a flick of the wrist.

The rod was dazzling and the heat around it was palpable, it streaked through the air and Katerea quickly formed magical circles in the dozens. Seemingly using everything she could as a massive amount of power was summoned, further amplified by the strange presence.

Barriers formed, the magical circles attempting to repel the attack.

The magical circles found themselves being smashed through with ease, the holy power eating the demonic power greedily.

Katerea looked back up at his Father pleadingly as the attack hit.

His Father smiled and gave a small wave.

She screamed in pain before finding her body outright disintegrated.

His Father turned his head and looked at the shocked mages.

Kneel.

The command boomed.

Michael felt shivers on the surface of his skin at the ancient voice.

Every enemy in the courtyard collapsed, their legs folding beneath them like marionettes with strings cut. Eyes wide. Faces locked in fear. All of the gathering attacks vanished.

The effect was only directed on the attacking mages.

The mages began to struggle, making him look at them boredly. A pulse erupted out of him, passing everyone but the mages passively. The light immediately consumed them, making the Devils flinch and even erect a barrier.

Only for it to pass by harmlessly.

“I suppose,” He said thoughtfully, glancing at the leaders.

“We should have a chat.”

-{Xenovia}-

It felt like a walking nightmare.

The sheer abruptness of it... the revelations crashing down one after another…

She felt her hands shake, her very soul feeling a sense of horror.

When she'd believed her Lord was dead, the Church's lies had shattered something inside her. Broken and alienated, she'd made the rash decision to join Rias Gremory's peerage.

Partly because the Devil lacked the pompous arrogance she'd heard plagued most pureblood nobility, and partly because Rias was the only Devil she actually knew.

The kindness displayed had helped as well.

It was quick.

With the betrayal she had felt and the excommunication she had been given, it had felt like the only choice. How could she stay in a church that was Godless?

Watching Heaven's decline through Devil eyes had been heartbreaking enough.

Still, she has made her choice and part of her felt a vengeful glee. While she focused on the next goal she had. Having a child. Making a new family to replace the one she lost.

Now... she was horrified.

God was alive.

This wasn’t meant to happen… he was meant to be dead.

The mere scale of his casual display of power had only served to shake her up even more.

She couldn’t tear her eyes off him.

The way Lord Michael stood besides him like some sort of general. The complete shift in demeanour from the kind passive Angel to a being that she found much more intimidating.

While Lady Gabriel looked like she was going to melt.

She had abandoned him. Turned her back when she thought there was no point in continuing without his presence. And here he was, soaring through the sky with the majesty that proved exactly who he'd always been.

He had just killed a powerful Devil hailing from the original line of one of the original four Satans. While she hadn’t been as powerful as any of the leaders present, she still wasn't someone to scoff at.

The way the two Satans acted showed they were just as worried.

Which didn’t fill her with comfort.

Rias stepped forward, her crimson hair whipping in the divine wind that seemed to emanate from the figure above. "What... what is that power?" she whispered, her usual composure cracking.

“Even with my brother so close by, I feel terrified.” She whispered.

"That's... that's..." Issei stammered defensively, taking an instinctive step back. "Who is that guy?"

Koneko could barely speak, her small frame trembling as she muttered under her breath. "So much power... so much..."

Suddenly, the Boosted Gear on Issei's arm flashed red, and Ddraig's voice boomed out, filled with an urgency Issei had never heard before.

"Partner! Listen to me very carefully. That being... if he turns hostile, you run. You run and don't look back. Promise me!" Draig’s voice was whispering furiously.

The entire peerage regarded the boosted gear with wide eyes.

If the Heavenly Dragon sounded worried what did that mean?

Issei's eyes widened in shock. "What?! Ddraig, what are you talking about? You've never sounded like this before!"

"The Red Dragon Emperor is warning you?" Rias asked sharply, turning to him.

"Who is he?" Issei demanded, looking between Rias and the floating figure. "Why is everyone acting like this? Ddraig, tell me! We can totally take the pretty boy bastard.”

Even Issei seemed unusually crushed. It was as if he was trying to gain his normal spirit but something deep within new that there was no overcoming whoever this was.

"That power... the last time I sensed it was during the Great War," Ddraig's voice carried genuine fear. "Do not engage. Do not provoke. Just... pray he's merciful. And maybe pray literally.”

“Draig-sama, who is this being?” Rias asked respectfully, her entire body was rigid and Xenovia could feel what she was sensing.

“That, my child, is the Master of Heavens. Elohim, Yahweh, Allah, he has many names. You know him as God, The Father of Angels.”

There was a resounding shock.

Kiba gained a look of horror, while Akeno seemed rooted in space and time. Koneko still looked despondent as she stared at the space in front of her blankly.

Rias gained a look of realisation and dawning fear.
