A variety of relatively simple changes in today's update, but changes that nonetheless elevate the HyperDeep experience considerably (if I do say so myself). Here are the highlights:

New outfit

Oh happy day we finally get some new clothes!

Behind the scenes, my clothing creation workflow has finally settled into a comfortable state, so I'd like to get back into a rhythm of including new clothing items with (almost) every update, even if it's just a single simple piece. Today we have four new items for what I'm calling the "lounge goth" set.

Default presets

I have been making (and thereby playing) HyperDeep almost every day for the last five (!) years. Because of this, I could navigate the game's customization menus with my eyes closed, and every character I create has a certain inimitable je ne sais quoi.

However, I imagine that to a new player, the roughly 100 different customization parameters could be a bit overwhelming. To give those players a bit of encouragement, and to show them what's possible, I have created a suite of default preset characters and outfits:

These default presets are displayed in the preset menus, but can be hidden using the "filter" button. A further new "reset" button has also been added to quickly reset all customization parameters back to default (in the case of a character), or remove all clothing items (in the case of an outfit).

Socks 'n' shoes

I took the time to create some additional morph targets for the socks in the game, to make them fit better with the shoes:

Physics sub-stepping

The stability of HD-chan's breasts, hair, shoulders, etc. at low framerates has been a lingering problem for a while now. Initially, I was planning to simply include a toggle in the settings menu to disable physics completely for players affected by this (and that toggle is still there for those that want it). That ended up feeling like a pretty pathetic response to the problem though, so I dug deeper and eventually managed to fix the root cause.

The skeletal physics in the game should now be wonderfully stable and consistent no matter what kind of potato you try to run the game on.

Color pickers

I received a request to add some way of matching colors between different customization options/clothing items. This is a frankly genius idea that I should have thought of sooner. Color pickers now have copy/paste buttons to allow you to set multiple pickers to identical colors.

Color pickers have also been further improved: the saturation slider now updates to reflect the current brightness, and the brightness slider is now gamma corrected. The simplest way to explain gamma correction is to say that it should now be easier to pick between individual dark shades than it was before.
