So, we took a poll about whether or not to swap out Aeria, and the results were tight, but Frankie ended up winning in the poll. We hope this isn't a letdown to anyone who wanted an Aeria route! WHAT THIS MEANS: Moving forward, AERIA as a route option will be replaced with FRANKIE (another of Aeriaquies' characters, who you've already met in Nico's route). I'll be rewriting the second half of the festival wherein you meet Aeria to include Frankie instead, which'll include all new dialogue. That should come out in the June update along with Merle's Day One.What WON'T change is Aeria's already existing scenes in other routes. He won't be replaced out of any of the scenes he's already in, such as Lyle's Day One, and he'll still continue to exist as a side character in the story! Canonically, he is still good friends with Lyle and Alister and he's still the father to one of Nico's kids, he's still a neighbor in the trailer park, so you'll continue to see him as a character in the game, he just won't be a romanceable route like he was.Again, our reason for doing this was that, quite frankly, we couldn't come up with a very fulfilling story for him! He has a lot of lore about how he ties into other peoples' lives in LC, but we couldn't settle on something that felt fun and interesting to the player with him as a standalone. It was Aeriaquies' idea to swap him out for another of his characters, so please don't worry about him! Frankie has more pre-existing lore as a standalone character, so we both think his story will be much more interesting to readers. To those who wanted Coda or Aeria: our apologies! We hope you still stick around for the other characters. We have plans in the future, if LC continues to go well, of doing a secondary project exploring routes with the popular side characters, so it's not off the table entirely!
