DESCRIPTION

I’m beyond thrilled to see that our latest book, Evolution of a Subculture 02: An Insider's History of ModCon (the fifth in the archive editions series from Sacred Debris), has started arriving in the hands of folks across the globe! From the United States and Canada to South America, Europe, and Japan, it's incredible to know that this little book is finding a permanent home in so many places.

It’s especially exciting to see original ModCon attendees receiving their copies, as well as those who attended my recent lecture in Berlin this past August. To have the book in circulation among those who were part of the story and those discovering it for the first time is a dream come true. Seeing their reactions and hearing their thoughts on the deep, personal history this book represents brings it all full circle. It also makes me feel old, but that's another post.

This project has been a labor of love, and I'm beyond humbled by the quickness with which it sold out; if there's enough interest, we might do a small run of softcovers for the 2025 Valentine's fun-d raiser.

One of of the personalities in the book is a gent we affectionately called Scrunnel- named from his eponymous "scrotal tunnel" - Scrun was a guest of multiple ModCon events and a true character.

I was told he passed a few years ago, so I'm thrilled that this photo from 2003's ModCon IV and featured in the new book, taken by our beloved Philip Barbosa, will carry on Dave's memory long after I'm gone.
