The endless city stretches beyond sight, its ruins sheltering the last remnants of those who refuse to be forgotten. Among them walks a scavenger, searching the depths for something long lost, a cure, a second chance. But in the heart of the broken world, where machines still hunt and echoes of the past linger, he finds something more than survival.

It started as something small, just a single chapter meant to introduce the setting for a solo RPG I want to make. But it took on a life of its own.
The seed of this world has been in my head for years, and last week, I decided it was time to finally pull the plug. Since then, I’ve been writing non-stop. After endless editing and rewriting, it’s finally in a place where it can stand on its own.
It could stay as just this, a single story. Or it could become something much larger.
I don’t know if this is the kind of thing people want to see here, but I figured I’d post it. If nothing else, its is the first complete story from this world. Maybe the first of many.
