DESCRIPTION

Hey everyone, I am back after a much-needed break during the holidays... So let me tell you what's next for The Augur.I've been using obsidian a lot, and I have seen plenty of videos and guides on how to play TTTRPGs using obsidian.. so much so that I found myself wanting to use obsidian to play... Which is quite a sacrilege as you might imagine. So I pondered on what I think makes obsidian such a great tool for organizing your games.Well, the first thing that sprang to mind was the left side note/file browser... is just so nice to be able to see everything there is using collapsible folders and quick search. The Augur has a browser already, but it's convoluted and separated by characters, locations, and such. One singular space where you can find and organize everything is what we need. Treat locations like a folder and put characters, notes, monsters, or anything else under that location. Or perhaps you have a big bad villain in your campaign and he is the root folder and beneath him, you place his dungeons, underlings, quest notes, and so on.You will be able to drag things from this browser into the map and other menus and vice versa. Honestly, I think this is the biggest missing feature in The Augur, it seems simple and silly but believe me it's going to make your gaming sessions way smoother. Check out the screenshot above showing the early tests of how it will look. This is my first foray into making the Augur easier to use (who doesn't know how to use a file browser tab these days???).. and frankly, more like obsidian because I just love using obsidian. In future updates I want to revamp the writing experience so it feels more like a proper text editor instead of a chat interface... the chat interface will remain for chatGPT of course but there will be a new kind of text panel where you can write as you write in most note-taking apps. Also, it's going to be markdown format all the way because I just love how easy it is to write using markdown.Progress has been good on this feature and I think it could be ready for the end of next week. So stay tuned for more!!
