The new video ‘letting go of fixing people’ is now uploaded. It’s an accumulation of lots of conversations about how we get drawn into trying to fix abusive individuals and groups/organisations; and also how we sometimes exhaust ourselves trying to fix fellow targets who resist our attempts to rescue them. This subject is probably in the top five areas that have cropped up in correspondence in recent years — a cause of great frustration and despair to many folks. The video is an exploration of why our attempts fail — and how we might approach things differently.
I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who’s supported the channel’s work over 2019. It’s been another hugely productive year, increasing on the output of the previous year. And it’s been good to make some headway on my previously stated intention to integrate some of the common threads from different areas of abuse: religious, political, therapeutic, familial, etc.. There’s so much overlap going on and so many compartmentalised targets of abuse who have more in common than they know.
