locked in with abusive individuals

DESCRIPTION

Dear patrons,

In recent weeks, I've been getting messages from folks from various countries who say they've found themselves in lockdown with abusive individuals — including narcissistic partners or parents and fundamentalist religious families. Feelings range from grinding stress and frustration to terror.

Of course, being stuck in the same residence as abusive individuals is something countless folks have experienced. But the current lockdowns around the world have intensified that experience for many, removing some of the measures that would ordinarily make life more bearable — eg, contact with friends, family, colleagues; access to places of periodic sanctuary — and increasing the daily levels of interactions with abusers.

I'd like to postpone a couple of projects and prioritise a piece looking at the experience of being locked down with abusive individuals. Have many points to make, but I'd also like to throw this open to you. To that end, which of the four options below reflects your experience? As always, if you have anything further you'd like to share about this subject, feel free to add a comment or message me. As with the messages already sent to me, any stories I mention in the video will be obscured and anonymised into unidentifiable basic components.

Stay safe.

Peace
