I told myself I wasn’t allowed to draw Bird Boys until Castle Swimmer went on break but I still did a few little sketches. Mainly because I’ve been messing with Harpy’s haircut lol.

I have a few un-official updates. One is that I might be going to NYCC in October but it isn’t confirmed yet. But wanted to mention it just to plant the seed in case any of you are interested in attending.
The other unofficial update is that there will probably be four Castle Swimmer books. The fourth book would end around the half-way point of season 2 (when Siren escapes the God’s Mouth).
However, the fourth book will probably be the last physical book of Castle Swimmer. Unfortunately the sales aren’t high enough to publish the full series. I suppose there’s the possibility of the rest being published later if I decided to self-publish but I’m not sure what I’d be allowed to do especially since webtoon has partial IP rights to the series.
Honestly, I never even thought there would be ANY physical books of Castle Swimmer nonetheless 4 so I’m still very happy that I’ve had this opportunity.
There are a lot of factors that go into a book’s success, especially a book that was once a webtoon so I don’t think the lack of sales have anything to do with the dedication of my readers. I have an amazing audience that has been SO supportive of this series and have shown up to so many of my signings and events. I think traditional publishing is just a very different world and sometimes the sales aren’t there.
However Castle Swimmer will remain free to read on webtoon once it’s finished. I’m going to opt out of doing any kind of Daily Pass (if webtoon even does those anymore) so you won’t have to worry about the series being inaccessible after it ends. And maybe there will be other physical publishing opportunities in the future, who knows!
