It's here! Finally!
I know it's been a while since the last Jack & Jill episode, and I'm sorry for the wait. Between the day job being absurdly busy and Homecoming's finale taking everything out of me emotionally... I needed a minute to breathe.
But I also needed light after all that darkness. So I decided to do something a little different: I combined the "Boughs of Holly" snapshot with a full Jack & Jill episode. What was supposed to be a short, sweet holiday story became... well, knowing me, it expanded. A lot. Many, many pages. As in, uh... 59????
Maybe longest ever? 💕
Anyway, I wanted to live in this happier headspace for a while. I wanted to spend time with Holly being messy and maternal and ridiculous. I wanted to see the Coven and the Toys trapped together in a storm with no Xu, no hierarchy, just survival and humanity and weird, broken family dynamics.This episode also incorporates so many wonderful ideas from my amazing friends and collaborators - Helena, Katie, and Jade - who have helped expand this world in ways I never imagined. Their characters and contributions are woven throughout this story, and you'll be seeing much more of them soon! This universe is richer because of their creativity and input.
I know I've missed a lot of deadlines lately, and I know I apologize constantly. I'm working on being kinder to myself about that and also giving you all realistic expectations. But what I'm NOT sorry about what I'm giving you. This episode is exactly what I wanted it to be, and I hope you enjoy as much as I do.
