WEEK SUMMARY

Animations Begin

This week, I finished refining the last couple of shots and started animating the base loops for each one. As I went, I made incremental save versions so I could freely experiment without worrying about breaking anything.

I can already see a few spots where I’m probably going to struggle, but that’s exactly why I’ve scheduled an animation week in between. It gives me time to slow down, spot the issues, and work out the kinks before pushing things further.

One of the bigger challenges right now is acting layers. By that, I mean the smaller expressive details—moaning, reacting to pain, moments of pleasure, and subtle emotional beats like that. I’m still not entirely sure how to approach them in a way that feels natural, but for now I’m just going to keep animating and practicing until it starts to click.

Next A Rotation Tasks

For the next weekly rotation, I’m going to focus more on animation iterations. The main goal is to make every shot feel expressive and intentional, instead of just a series of brainless actions.

As for the environment, I’m going to put that on hold until each shot is fully animated and figured out. Most of the environment is already planned out anyway, so what’s left is mainly texturing and adding a few decorative props once the animation is locked in.

End

For next week’s animation, I’m planning to find the most expressive reference I can and basically rotoscope it as closely as possible. While I’m working through it, I’ll also be taking notes along the way so I can reflect on the process afterward and see what I can create a system for going forward.
