May 2026 Update

We have started work on The Holiday Express!

Above is a treasure.

The idea behind it is that it's a christmas/new years train. It's where the Toy Powerup was initially made for!

The level features Toggle Blocks. A bit tried, true, but we're pretty happy with how they look.You have to go to the Red toggle sign to turn off the Blue ones, and vice versa. Unlike other toggles, this one does not use the interact button.

Level design is currently a work in progress. I'd say the layout it 65% done, and it still has yet to be playtested. I'd hoped to get the layout done in time for this update, but what can you do.

There are Yuki Onna populating the level. They can either surround you with icy projectiles, or blow icy wind that freezes you briefly.

There's sub-sections of the level that are supposed to be little victorian christmas towns. It felt fitting to have a british urban legend enemy here to match the yokai!

It will jump up and glide around. Not very harmful if you're still, but that's not always an option.

...?Ah, the Super Bar's full!

Trying Supers out fully! They also have yet to be playtested, but I am hoping to release some form of these in the next demo. I've described the Super Bar in the December update - but this is the implementation of an actual Super!The Mop Bucket Splash is a simple Super that does a lot of damage to the entire screen -- very good at clearing out messy rooms and arenas.

Potentially overpowered, maybe.. We'll have to see. I think this will be a great addition, it's pretty fun to build up & use.

Miscellaneously, Autumn Hill High is now fully tiled as was mentioned would happen in April.

The music track for Castle Matsumoto is seeing significant progress, and some work for a track for Cherrypost has also begun.

Here's a snippet of the B Mix of A Walk in the Park, Pastel Park's track, which was also completed this month. It plays in the canopy section here.

Overall I think May was pretty productive. Hoping this continues!!
