Second System 2.1 adds several new DLLs to the package, including a D3D12 stub (for some QT 6 applications; although others like QBittorrent will need WinRT extensions that will be released separately in the near future), powrprof.dll and several new DLL redirects.
Some issues have also been fixed, such as errors regarding the interface ITaskbarList4 in ShareX 13.1. Cygwin applications such as winws.exe should also work on Windows Vista.
In addition, for users running Windows Vista and/or older CPUs (and even Celerons and Pentiums produced before 2021), Second System now incorporates basic AVX emulation covering the instructions vmovaps, vmovups and vzeroupper. These instructions are sufficient for running some installers compiled with AVX instructions, such as the Ollama installer; more instructions will be implemented soon.
Windows 8.1 is still being tested; there are a few complications remaining with the API set structure in the operating system. When it is sufficiently stable and running the latest Chromium browsers, its release will be uploaded.
