May is here! Above is the schedule for May as we are using this new schedule, doing blocks of pages from the same story before switching back and forth. Let's see how this helps out in the long run.
Ladies' Knight is up to bat this month, and is making some demons as another character is pulled into the game.
Getting Back into the Grove
I think I several points over the last month, I've felt like I'm starting to get back to normal after My mom broke her leg. It's been taking a lot of time and energy to help get her back to normal. And back to being independent.
I'm not upset about the life disruption, but it is a disruption that takes a lot of time and energy and strains relationships. I'm trying to put time into each bucket that needs attention so things can be back to where. The process can feel exhausting. Then watching this resource of time that I had fairly well managed becoming more and more rare and more valuable is rough. And sometimes the comic here ends up taking the hit with delayed pages and chaotic schedules.
I'm making strides and with each step, I feel like I'm more in the in the clear then I was before. Although, it's less that I'm out of the tunnel. It's just that I'm out of that section of the tunnel. There are still things to do. But it's not as intensive as the last section of the tunnel was. I ramble down this diatribe to say that today is like the first day in two months that I feel like I can breathe.
I'm working on stuff I want to work on. And when I'm done, it's early enough that it's not the middle of the night. I'm able to get several things done all in the same day, and not feel like I'm burning the candle at both ends. It's a good place to get back to. And hopefully I can continue to head out of the tunnel.
Parental Update
Since I've been talking about it, I'll give the update on Mom's leg. Pretty good at the moment. Some of the issues with confidence as starting to get broken down. I got her out of the house for the first time in two months over the weekend. She's taking a proactive roll in improvement, and not doing the bare minimum. She's already planning on how to continue to improve when this is done, as she wasn't in the best physical shape when this started.
Also she plans on getting out of the house on her own this week as well. So her independence is coming back bit by bit. She's still older and is still healing, and has limited energy. However, She's on a good road of recovery and is going to get there.
Birthday Month
Normally, I like to do a lot of extra stuff in May as a bit of thank you and go along with my birthday later in the month. While the bandwidth is opening up. It's not that far open. But I'll try to save some of those ideas for a unbirthday at some other point in the year. Maybe for Stephanie's birthday. Whenever I say that is.
