✏️ conventions log and yapping

back when i kept drawing in my school textbooks instead of doing math problems, and my teachers would tell me i ”should definitely work with art!”, i never imagined i'd ever get to a point i'd have so much art related work to do, that i'd feel painfully guilty that i don't have any new drawings to post for the people who *gasp!* pay me to do exactly that???? all i could think of back then was ”lol and how is anyone supposed to work with art anyway...”

so as suggested by my therapist, here's a bit of behind the scenes from a recent convention table i did with my sister -- i never really share those around here because i didn't think it would be interesting. but also hey, with the current state of the world, i guess if you just wanted art to be spat out with no talking, you could just ask some ai for it. and you're already here anyway so... here's my june so far! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

i keep forgetting how con season is always a mess, and believing i can open commissions along with that (i am a fool). it's funny how even if you make a list of every single thing you have to do, five new things arise whenever you cross one. add late manufacturers on top of that of course, cause you can never buy stuff early enough x,P

i'm as happy as ever with the result though. this con in particular — that happened in the 13th and 14th this month — was arraial themed which is typically celebrated in brazil during june. I've always loved this season because it's colorful, chilly, and there's lots of great food! it's our first time at this themed con and we got to decorate ourselves and our table with straw hats and plaid patterns.

i even printed some omori and undertale square-dance drawings i did back in 2021 and 2016 for the occasion!!! 💛

last year i had put together a small artbook for my OCs triz and sig (manually printed and clipped one by one...), and it actually sold quickly so i made an actual run of those this time! i was already anxious because you gotta buy a biggish number of them to be cost effective, but then, there was a printing error that jumbled up the order of pages including the back cover. luckily, they ended up reprinting the whole thing..! so now i have two times a whole bunch of those. uh um.... look forward to them in the online shop in the future for sure xD

and in just three weeks we'll have da big con I've mentioned a few times. this one lasts 4 days and it's the biggest one we attend in the year, so needless to say there's still a lot to lose my head over. if i manage to sit down to draw at all in the next few days, it will be a last minute idea for some merch to take there @v@

so happy i can count on the best labor force for autonomous artists out there to help me cut and assemble all this stuff (unpaid husband) (❁´◡`❁)💕

hope this wasn't too boring lol. but i figured that patreon is a place to share this sort of stuff too sometimes (and oh my god i need a way to justify why i don't have much new art to share this month even though there's no one but my anxious brain complaining,,)
