Welp. I've aged up one whole year.
Don't feel much different, if I'm being honest. One might think aging one entire year in only one day would feel strange. Oh well. It was nice though. The actual event to celebrate the occasion I mean, not getting older. Had some good food among good company.
Comic This Week: Solipsus - Page 34This comic is going to teach me how to draw huge parties with stupid amounts of characters in them. Come hell or high water.
Votey thing is still active! Vote in the votey thing! I'll probably close it out... idk. Maybe Friday after the comic goes up. Just to give everyone a chance to get their votes in.
I don't usually do this, because I don't like to put my finger on the scale, but I'll give you some of my thoughts on the leading candidates.
Cyrus, Kiva and Riley are currently the top three as of this writing. I love it. I have an art in mind for it. For all I know though it could either be a giant mindblowing lore bomb, or something that's so obvious everyone will be like "well duh." Cuz like, I've left clues all over the place already. I'm sure some of you have pieced together that history by now if you've been following for a while. But anyway, that's my thoughts. If Cyrus wins: Lore.
I continue to toy around with different color canvas colors. The blue wasn't working for me, so I've switched to more of a tan. Blue was actually giving me ocular migraines. So that was no fun.
Also some of you may have noticed I keep drawing random things in my free time but like... never finishing or posting them anywhere. I only share them as previews here, unfinished and poorly cropped. So... I guess... that's a perk? I dunno. I'm an artist. We're whimsical creatures. Maybe I should post them anyway.
And hey, I got my eye doctor's appointment today. I'll let y'all know how blind I am becoming. I'll come back and update this post in like a few hours.
EDIT: So the good news is my eyes aren't showing any signs of actively getting worse! The bad news is that they're just as shitty as they've always been and there still isn't much to be done about it.
Anyone who's been following me for like 20+ years might know that I've always had problems with my left eye. (It's the excuse I used for why my old OLD original fursona had heterochromia.) They're the sort of problems nobody can do anything about. That eye just sucks. And it's always sucked. And glasses don't help because it sucks genetically. Well, that eye has ONLY gotten worse. And now I'm worried about my good eye too, because it's had to compensate for the shitty eye my entire life and it might be tired of that. So... yeah! Great stuff. I love having biological parts.
Seeing is most of what I do, so... if I go blind, chances are pretty good I'll have to find some other way to finish my comics. And that sounds annoying. So... hopefully that doesn't happen! Hopefully my eyes are fine(-ish) and it's just some anxiety getting the better of me.
