My precious Emu chickies, it's been too long since I have returned to the comfort of our communal nest to regurgitate my pre-digested Patreonic worms into your eager mouths. Oh! Do you grimace so?You may have noticed I've been a little quiet on the content front the last month. In order to allay fears that I've disappeared of the earth's very face, I'm here to drop you some Early Access to something I worked on this week to entertain myself. It's visually comprised of stock footage I found on Pexels which I thought was too fun not to concoct into a narrative of sorts. Backed by a cover of a song I used to sing in the shower, in enthused preadolescent falsetto, fifteen years ago. In fact I think it was one of 120 songs I had installed on the iPod mini (1st generation green chrome) which I bought off my older sister's friend for £20 in 2006, for those interested in throwbacks. She left her own music selection pre-installed and I would be lying if I didn't say that selection fundamentally still defines my music taste to this day. Prizes to anyone who can guess what else was included. Anyway, that's by the by. It'll be out on streaming platforms this week, while I work on some new original music. The reason I have been quiet is for two very exciting causes! The first one being, I have put together a live show. Alongside dearest Hunter, who has directed some killer video content for it (as is his wont), and two other collaborators, Adam the producer/director and Estelle the technician, we have concocted a live show that I think is genuinely worthy of the support you have proffered me over the last couple of years. I'm truly genuinely proud of it and think it's Nice and Actually Good. Both essentially important! It's full of loud songs and dramatic lighting and videos of my Dad. We'll be bringing it to a few more cities in the UK this year, and without a doubt some other countries following that! As you may have seen I'm also touring the USA with Value Select this April (for which I am truly pumped). Sadly I don't have the resources to bring my full show, but I will be bringing a Rock Solid selection of my absolute favourite songs and playing a selection of my favourite instruments. I'll inevitably dance something too. I truly can't wait! I regret to say I'm unavailable for the Arizona show, but for all others I will be there in full force. You can get tickets here: https://www.valueselectlive.com/Secondly, I've been lucky enough to work with Hunter, as well as a production company called Blink (who produced Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, for the Youtube nerds), to put together a mini Jazz Emu pilot of sorts. The idea is to expand the world of Jazz Emu into something consumable over long form. With other loveable characters and a nail-bitingly riveting plot. Hunter and I are deep in the edit right now, but it's on its way in the next few months. Some shots of it and from the live show below, to whet your whistle. Thanks for your continued support as I increasingly do more and more of this stuff. To be honest it's all that 12 year old listening to his green chrome 1st generation iPod Mini was dreaming of.
