Hi everyone,
Here’s the full process for this cover.
I started by doing a few concepts for the editors to choose from. The idea they gave me was a female Venom emerging from the All-New Venom in an alien chest-bursting style (which is a pretty cool concept , Al Ewing came up with it).
They approved a layout and went with option E in this case.
From there I moved forward: I did a rough sketch and gradually built it up, adding more defined details until I reached the final pencil sketch.
I sent it to the editor for approval, then inked it on paper, scanned it, and sent it off for coloring.
I really like the concept they picked, but honestly I think concept D would’ve been pretty cool too.
