Drak here! We mentioned this character in the server, and long story short, one of my oldest characters was a girl called Kim and she was always hanging out with Nor. Later when I met Llama and we started shipping Nor and Gull, he ended up taking the same role as Kim and she kinda fell to the sidelines.
Then a while ago, at around the time we were making Reverich, Llama wanted me to design a character to ship with Gull, since Rev is being shipped with Nor, and we exchanged big inspo sheets while making them.
For this character, she was initially going to be a flower goddess of the jungle but I wasn't feeling it and it took a long time to get something concrete down. I did this character design exercise where you start with a word then write down related words around it, and related words to those related words, until you have several branches. You then circle the stuff you like and incorporate that into your character design.
I'm not sure I'm explaining this in the best way so here's the video where I got it from (timestamped)
Anyway, the red circle is what Llama was intrigued by, and the green is my own. I got this idea of a campfire-themed character and went all in on that, picturing her as a goddess that appears to frightened travels in the dark and keeps them safe.
It was during this, after I colored her hair, that I suggested to Llama we could use my old character Kim for this, essentially incorporating her traits into this new "Kim". And he loved that suggestion so we're going with it!
Once that was settled it became easier to envision what this character is like since we already knew Kim, who is fun and energetic and has that radical skater girl type of vibe. The idea of making her a sports fan came to mind and I really liked that so I incorporated it into her design and we ended up with this:
Kim would also be short for a longer, more fantasy-sounding, name. Just haven't come up with it yet lol
Oh man, I also have to talk about the chimera thing.You might look at her and go "Tiger? Maybe?" and it's cause I made her animal features ambiguous on purpose, like some kinda anime pet where you can't quite place what it is.
After discussing it some more, we decided to actually make her a chimera. Kliss is a chimera too, and we came up with this category of chimeras based on what their diets are.
Kliss is the Omnivore Chimera, the "All-eater" who has parts of every animal (though he's currently debuffed cause he lost parts of himself)Kim is the Carnivore Chimera, who has parts of all carnivores
So there'd also be the Herbivore chimera, Frugivore, Insectivore, Piscivore, Fungivore etc etc. (Was thinking of using Mash, the one-off Nor and Tay fusion design, as the Herbivore...) We haven't fully worked out everything yet so it's kind of vague but figured I'd share anyway.
Oh another thing, we like the idea of our demi-gods having designs that look vaguely modern in design. Like modern stuff made out of fantasy materials if that makes sense. So they'd look distinct and kind of other-wordly.
