Today I found out that the fantastic moderators at Nexus decided that Jobi's three mods in hot files were DPS farming because he had three mods in hot files. I've seen this time and again with other mod authors, but today, suddenly, his three mods "are the same and need to be made into an AIO." That is BS. I wouldn't have released all three mods (or however many he released) in a week, but I have been guilty of having a couple of mods in Hot Files in the same week, if it was only within a couple days of each other. This idea that everyone that is working hard to upload new mods is some type of DP farmer is ridiculous. Nexus makes dollars for every penny a mod author makes there. Why does it matter at all? Is it about giving others a chance to be in Hot Mods? Well, here's my honest thoughts on that. Get rid of Hot Mods/Trending Mods - its is bad for the community and becoming toxic. The DP on Nexus just isn't worth all the strangling control Nexus puts on the people who bring their cash in. Obviously, this was a last straw type of thing and not just some illogical "quick decision" to leave Nexus.
Now, those of you that have been around for a while know I'm not a fan of their moderation policies and have even been a victim of them (specifically over my right to earn a living as a mod author). I have removed all my mods from Nexus and will no longer do business with them. You can find all my mods at GGmods.com.
Don't worry about my mod authoring career. I think this is what Nexus counts on - they have many folks in fear of what would happen without them. If this kills my career because I stood up for what I felt was right, then perhaps I'm just not in the right place. Either way, I'll still be here hammering out mods and putting unique stuff for my Patrons and free stuff over on GGmods.com.
