Dev Diary - July 2026 (2)
Hello everyone, and thank you so much for your absolutely amazing support!
We've decided to make the first part of our Dev Diary public as, truth be told, we feel bad for not being consistent with these, so we gave as much as we were able to the public while keeping the full and NSFW wips for you guys.
Without any further ado, let us explore what we have so far. First, we have the Argyr scenes:
Before we dive deeper into the "how to please your dragon", we'd like to talk about his design.
The first time Yarin can have an intimate moment with him is during the Mask Event, which is really just the free pass for having flings with characters you aren't really meant to get your hands on before developing some sort of meaningful relationship with them, whatever that may be (some are okay with being friends with benefits, after all!)
But you might have noticed this guy has a few peculiarities, namely... nipples. And scars.
Argyr is not a pure dragon, having had a mammal parent, and as genetic recombination would have, he was born with nipples. All things considered, he lucked out, as he can still pass as a full-on dragon if he wants to, which was a useful skill during his hard past.
And such "hard past" would explain the scars. Before Argyr was a powerful, wealthy business person, he endured a tough life in the underworld of... not so legal activities, all associated with the pro-imperialists. We believe the full story will be better told in-game, so for now, you can have a general idea of our vision for him.
Now, the scene itself, at last!
Big dominant dragon who knows aftercare, despite his truly intimidating aura? Yes, please.
This is the trope we want to go for with him. A tough guy with a thick shell who is actually surprisingly sensitive once you get to know him, because he has gone through a lot and doesn't wish the same for others. This is why he fights for what's fair, having learned with his past mistakes. Now we're starting to see why he's allied with Camila.
Our personal favourite thing about him, is that he can breathe ice! That would really come in handy for this heatwave...
Anyway, moving on to Quincy, the bull bartender:
Also a big one, yes. Quincy was an afterthought of our writer, we weren't even thinking about having a prominent bartender character for these Mask Events, but he thought, we don't have a bull yet. Let's have a bull.
Thus, Quincy was born. He's a bull that likes having fun, that's the gist of it. But more questions arise... Is bartending his only job? What other things is he involved in?
More on that at a later date, but we would like to do something with him. We'll wait to see how well he's received by you guys. For now, here goes his full concept art:
As for the scene you can already find in the game, it is a simple hookup, quick scene, but we are considering more with him, as ideally Yarin will be able to visit the bar during Mask Events multiple times. There is a chance he might even be featured along with other characters in group scenes.
Will he have a deep story besides that? It is too early to tell, but who knows!
Here's the art sketches for the scene:
One of the difficulties we're finding with illustrating scenes with significant size differences is really how to distribute the scene along the canvas and what perspectives to pick. And indeed, perspective work is very tricky. But we believe our artist did a pretty good job with both Quincy and Argyr here. What do you think?
And finally, the Roy sprites!
We really wanted him to look fluffy, and our sprite artist captured that wonderfully, we think. Roy is meant to be this comfort character while, of course, being a wolf (and werewolf inspired) he has to look powerful and very physically capable.
Speaking of werewolves... Just now, as we were writing this post, an idea for Roy came up. We did mention he isn't an "easy-to-anger" character. There might be perhaps a reason for that now. Werewolf Roy? In this case more like, brute form, a wildshape or something... well, we'll think about it. Thanks, y'all!
Alright, that's about it for WIPs, and we have more on the works. For now, let us know what you think about these new developments, feedback is always appreciated and we do take it into account. We want to make a game we like and that others can enjoy as well!
Until next time!
