or the unopened door guiding the way forwardthe slamming shut of consequence for miss entryall the while finding the way forward.
I shot this at a time where I felt powerless in my search for connection.when I thought it was up to me to make myself fit in the various keyholes so to speak, the thing that would open people up to me. I find now that this effort of reshaping myself is to be in opposition of my very desire, it's not that we should not try to meet the needs of others, but bending yourself into unnatural states to please or to gain, is an effort to control.I want to allow, to give space freely, to receive, so I make that space now instead of making myself small, I am the door for those to enter through. and so I find my way forward.when I say I didn't know how to color these, I mean that. I fumbled through this. The lighting came out too strong, the mist making contrast new impossible, the lack of lighting set up on me making me look incredibly dark. Part two will be better. I will also lean more into the natural coloring of the shoot on those images instead of trying to grade them.
