to everyone's surprise btw Luka didn't instantaneously jump onto the yandere train, it initially was a very slow incline that direction. Marinette genuinely means well, and is under the impression that her and Luka were a couple right before she lost her memories - why else would he be so attentive, and kind, and understanding, and patient, so so so patient? Surely they were close. They had to have been! And maybe, if they go back to being that way, maybe some of her memories will start to leak back in...?
As for Luka, well... its not technically a lie. They WERE together at one point before she got amnesia. It... couldn't hurt to just... slide the scales a little. She was happy with him once. She could be happy with him again, right?
