So I have about four mini episodes of this concept I had a little while back that I just sort of made before getting really itchy feet with it and wanting a change in direction for a couple of elements.

I also had a voice actor change and some other things that altered the overall scope for the project. However, as I mentioned I have four mostly finished episodes of this thing which I've been sitting on whilst I try to get the other three properly tidied up and given some finalisation.

They are very short little episodes and the reason I made a few at once was because I wanted to have a few toons ready in my back pocket so I could reliably stick to a weekly upload schedule. This was back when I was definitely still approaching this channel with an unhealthy work ethic so I'm glad that whilst I shifted gears and took a reality check I haven't lost any of this stuff.

Now the first episode is actually fully finalised and whilst I find small moments of time to sort out new voice acting, tidy up and properly finish the other three I wanted you guys to see it - it should remain exclusively on here for a while and as I gradually figure out what to do with the others I'll share them with you all too.

The very mini series is called Life Over Cloud and follows this band of fantasy adventurers sharing a floating castle together. A seemingly pleasant life above an infinite expanse of fluffy white cloud but what lurks below where the sun doesn't reach?

As you can see from the concept art for it, I had a lot of fun with the castle design. My favourite Ghibli film when I was younger was Castle In The Sky so no surprise there lol. The idea for the physics of the flying castle is that it doesn't make any sense at all, the propellers on flying castles always seemed so laughably stupid as if any size propeller would make any difference so I wanted to lean into that with the mini propellers at the bottom.

This may not look to be the case at first but when it came to designing the characters, final fantasy X was weirdly an inspiration. My vision for the pink haired protag is an annoying twink chosen one like Tidus, The dog knight filled the Kimahri role and the witch leaning slightly into Lulu in terms of personality and certain um ... design elements.

My initial plan for this was a slice of life gentle fantasy story that gradually revealed a world of horrors below, these two worlds growing ever closer to colliding. Would the protagonists lose their gentler humanity in the collision?

But yeah, that was a lot of talking from me, I'm sure at least some of you have terrible ADHD like I do so I won't blame you if you skim read it. Enjoy the toon and I'll gradually chip away at this and share more bits and pieces just for you folks.

As always thanks for supporting me in what I do, and welcome to those of you have recently joined!

Cheers,
