March was a REAL mixed bag. You can see with the lack of cat pictures that something was off. I've been dealing with some real severe brain fog. Not sure if it's a result of being sick, or being depressed/tired, or just allergies starting to punch me down early, but I've had a VERY hard time.
Because of that, a lot of last month's music ended up as basic stream loops. Nothing wrong with that, I think it's a good place to explore and experiment without overly committing to something. But I agree it's not very interesting.
I made some progress on Quiet Spaces last month, but not as much as I'd like. I'm determined to knock out the rest of the songs and get the album done before my Patreon anniversary in May though.
There are a few projects that are happening this month that I'm excited about.
First, the Two Hour Album Challenge is going on right now! I did my song for it already, but I might do another one if I have the energy and inspiration.
Next week I'm starting the plans for the yearly community remix album. That has been a ton of fun in the past years and I'm looking forward to see what song we vote on and how everyone interprets the song that was selected!
Finally, at the end of this month, I am in preliminary plans to do a co-album with a streamer friend. April 22-24 we will bounce songs back and forth daily and put together a fun little album. Nothing serious, just being random goofs.
Once Quiet Spaces is done, I'm going to try to do a test of the Pomodoro mixes I hinted at last month. I chose a handful of songs that I think would work well together and I'm going to spend some time in Ableton building a live set that I can dynamically "mix" rather than just fading between songs. Seems like a fun project.
Anyway, thank you as always for your support! It's been a wonky few months, but I think we're building up to some new cool things. Off to donate for the kitties!
