I don't think I'm as well equipped to handle the heat as I used to be. It was very warm around here the past few weeks and I think that cooked my brain a bit. Thankfully a big rain storm is rolling through and things are going to be more reasonable the next week or so.
Been pretty happy with the tracks we made this month, but I really started feeling the friction this past week or so. Just too much going on and it overwhelms me a bit. I've come up against a bit of a creative roadblock with a commissioned project that has slowed me down too.
All told, things have been going well though. I've gotten more to the point where I can just kinda sit down and vibe on stream and we end up with some neat things. I'm hoping to work on more full songs and not worry so much about the Stream Loops, though those are definitely fun. Just depends on where the flow takes us.
I was also starting to think harder about what to do with all these songs made this year. I'm kind of thinking about holding onto them all until the end of the year and maybe we can have a big sorting/listening party. Place them into piles that could turn into albums in 2025?
Out of curiosity, I dumped all the Stream Music we've made this year into a playlist. Fourty-seven songs that span 2 hours and 15 minutes. Not bad!
Anyway, I'm off to donate to some kitties and then try to jam out this commission so I can reorient my brain towards making weird stuff again. Hope you have a great week!
