The first half of this month was very much a blur. While the occupation of Minnesota has "slowed down" toward the end of the month, it's still a thing that's happening. I've been trying to get back to some semblance of "normal" while also supporting my family, friends, and neighbors.
In the meantime, I do have some new songs to share!
Music
Not uploaded this month are three songs I started for the Additional Drones for Drones album as well as eight small loops I did as a commission (can't share 'em until they get approval from the dev). So next month there will be a lot of cool stuff to share.
Adversarial - This month's stream with Soopurkul was a ton of fun. I feel like we spent a lot more time yapping than making music, so I feel the mix and general arrangement of this needs work. The 8 tracks we've done over the past 4 months will get cleaned up and put into an album, which is exciting! Soop agreed I can share their song as well, it's a punk rock song called "You Can't Make Me". It's fun.
Troubadeck Loops - I've been making this part of my weekly schedule to spend an hour or two working on these. I uploaded weeks 5-8. Some are more interesting than others, but it's been a good way to experiment and use other chords than what I'm comfortable with.
Game Development
I wasn't able to make anything for the Brackeys Game Jam this time around, which was a bummer. However, I'm proud of myself for recognizing I wouldn't be able to finish and bailing out early. A few years ago, I would have pushed through it and burnt myself out on everything else. There's always the next one!
Fever Break is mostly done, but I put a stop on it to work on the game jam, then that fizzled, then life got very busy. Soon though!
Onward
It's warming up over here, which is a nice change of pace. Being stuck inside during Winter really does give The Shining vibes sometimes. Something oppressive about just not being able to go outside without guarding yourself against the forces of Nature.
I have a lot of things to finish up in March, but I'm excited to work on them!
I will say that with how things have been going, the Quiet Spaces album will likely get delayed until later this year. I don't want to rush it out.
