Hello friend! Posting a few days early, that's just how the schedule shakes out this time.
Been chaotic around here. I needed to catch up on the weekly Troubadeck song and it's been a very busy month in general. Our kitty Trevor had an eye issue the past few days, which is thankfully clearing up now. Glad to say that things are settling back into a rhythm.
Music
In addition to writing and releasing the Artifacts - Sunset Frequency album, I am working on compiling the collaboration I did with my buddy Soopurkul at the start of the year. It's mostly done, but we gotta do the album art and I have a silly idea.
I wrote 8 songs for the Troubadeck project to get caught up with the weekly cards. Some highlights:
Week 21 Freefall - I've always loved those high pitched sliding leads you hear in R&B. Was a lot of fun to experiment with it!
Week 24 Pull Me Down - Very pleased with how this one turned out. I dug up some lyrics I wrote a few months ago on a whim and things clicked together so well. Definitely want to give this some more time and attention when I am able.
Week 26 Seaside - I feel like these weekly cards have me straying from my New Age/Ambient roots. It was nice to make just a chill little song.
Book
It's getting there! I finished my second rounds of edits last week and sent it off to be reviewed by a few people who offered their time and advice.
Much like when I released my first video game, I am discovering book writing has so many additional steps that need to be done before something is complete. I need to sort out the cover art and the formatting of the text and how the pages flow and how chapters and sections are introduced and on and on. It is getting there, but it's obviously taking many times longer than I anticipated.
Now that I'm caught up with music, I plan to dig into this and get it done this month for good.
Onward!
Now that I'm caught up with other obligations, I can reorganize my priorities and take stock of what I want to accomplish for the second half of the year. Lots to do and I'm excited to dig in!
Will donate to the kitties in a few days, have a great month!
