DESCRIPTION

My post a couple of days ago about my Laced shoot with Charlie got a comment from a subscriber saying he didn't get the artistic point of the lacings which is a totally fair comment. Most of the comments I get on my work here, on instagram and everywhere, are admiring the beauty of the model and saying "great shot" or something similar. It's great when I get challenged in a constructive way like this week's comment. It was not an aggressive comment at all and I absolutely understand where it came from. Why on earth would I pretend a model had metal rings through his skin? On the other hand, why not?

For me, being a typical Libran and seeing both sides of most points sometimes I'm trying to say something deep and meaningful with a shoot or in the case of the shoot with Charlie, I just thought it would be an interesting idea.

I've done some strange things to models over the years in the name of a good image. Powder, clay, powder AND clay, glitter, bodypaint, wrapping a model's head in black fabric. All of it mostly in the effort to create an interesting image.

I also don't want to create the same thing over and over again so expect more visual nonsense and experimentation from me, it's a lot of fun. I promise there will be more conventionally beautiful imagery mixed in there for you.
