Today I had someone ask me why comics aren't coming out faster. I want to be real with you because even though it pisses me off when people ask that, I know you guys just see the finished pages and don't know what is actually happening behind the scenes. For $5 a month, you are getting weekly content and a guaranteed page every single week without fail. While big corporations like Marvel, DC, and Netflix make billions and constantly hike their prices on you, I have kept Naughty Comix at that $5 price point since the start. I haven't taken a single dollar of profit from this yet, every cent goes back into the Naughty World. I do this because I want these comics to be accessible and I want to guarantee the success of this brand for the community.
The reality of production is a constant battle. I am managing a global team where a third of the artists don't even speak English. I have to manage budgets, negotiations, and artist moods while balancing my own family and mental health, which is basically non-existent at this point. I have seen everything. I had an artist's house catch on fire mid-project, people quit, and one of my best friends and top artists passed away in the middle of a project. I have had guys take my money and just fucking disappear. I run so many different projects specifically because I have to keep things moving when tragedy hits or someone flakes. If this were easy, everyone would be doing it. I literally told a guy asking for advice the other day not to do this because of how much it takes out of you. Honestly, it's really not worth it, but lucky for you guys I am just too stubborn to quit.
There is so much more professional bullshit I deal with that I simply cannot talk about publicly. Naughty Comix almost killed me in 2023, but I don't share those hardships because when you think of Naughty World, I want you to be happy. I don't want to bring you down with my stuff. I am steering this ship for our long term success, and I have basically no life outside of work and these comics. It's not personal. I am just doing my absolute best to deliver high quality art at a price point that should honestly be much higher. Just look at my peers and see how much they charge for less than what you get here.
Now on a much lighter note, there are big things coming this year. We have multiple new projects hitting the pipeline. For the guy who says comics aren't coming out fast enough, you will be happy to know that I am recently looking at the feasibility of releasing two comic pages per week to provide even more value. I cannot guarantee this as I am not making any profit, so there is really no incentive for me to do it other than the fact that we're awesome and I really don't give a fuck. But yeah, we're doing GTA, Mortal Kombat, Tomb Raider, and Fallout all before then end of the year. Also, Every Naughty Comix original (including Phukham Asylum w/ a new artist) is renewed for a new chapter, and we have new crossovers, guest appearances, and even some IRL porn stars being featured this year. Plus, I am officially working on a collaboration with a company that wants to make an Eva sex toy, I can't say who the company is until the business part is worked out but trust me it'll be fuckin lit! I appreciate you sticking with me while I navigate the madness to keep Naughty World growing.
