At the meeting of the Arcana Club that evening, Prof. Quaris graciously invites the party to a tour of the laboratory, a change in policy that is deeply suspicious to the party, especially Skratch, who is all to aware that the professor means him harm. The party agrees to stick much more closely together, and follows up on the lead given to them by Yura Ona, and they travel down to Darkwater. There, they bump into none other than Sgt. Kurz, who flees in a truck. The party then steals some cars and has an awesome car chase down the highway, with Skratch eventually smashing in the windshield of the truck and yanking out its driver, causing it to crash. Viola and Skratch make up unsteadily. Meanwhile, it seems that Sgt. Kurz has slipped away again, but the trucks may contain all the tools they'll need to access the laboratory themselves...
