Hello! Thank you to everyone who's come to help lend me a bit of support. I'm writing this post to summarize what I've been up to and my plans for the near future.
If you've been following my progress on Twitter, you may know that this month was spent adding female Shane (Shauna) to the second volume of Bountiful Beauties. She's almost complete, and should be added to the Volume 2 download for members to test out in probably around a week. Before I upload the public release though, I also want to have the first of my character rewrites completed to put up alongside it - Dreamy Doctor Dialogue, featuring Harriet, the female version of Harvey! All of her dialogue and heart event lines have been rewritten, and CGs have been added to three of her events, but I want to add one more drawing to her 10-heart to make it feel a little more intimate, so that'll probably also go up for testing a few days after Shauna's finished, later in August.
Once the genderswapped bachelors are complete I have two plans to focus on: one is something I've already started working on in from time to time: cleaning up the Volume 1 bachelorette portraits to bring them up to the same higher resolution as Volume 2. The other is to start on drawing portraits for the rest of the villagers in the game, which will make up Volume 3 of the portrait pack! Most of them don't have as many sprites and portraits as the marriage candidates so most of them will probably have only one or two unique poses each, which should allow me to get through them faster, but I'm also aware that some of the characters, such as Wizard, or Morris, have mod expansions that give them a lot more portraits. I'd like to make sure my mod is compatible with those but that'll mean more drawing!
As an aside... this is a little side project I wanted to get done as well, hehehe. Cut off characters' clothes and make Cloth with it!
This is the main reason I want to improve the resolution of the original six bachelorettes, but I've hit a bit of a snag on this plan. For potential players who'd like to use this but don't use my portraits, I planned to include vanilla-style portraits and sprites, and that's easy to do for the girls because there are mods on Nexus with open permissions. But I wanted to include the genderswap bachelors too, and those characters aren't girls in the original form of Stardew... The only complete mod for the men has closed permissions, and I have no interest in making assets for them myself! Not really sure what the best plan is for that...
