DESCRIPTION

We have officially reached the end of the 6th book of Realm of Monsters. It’s been a wild journey. This book is by far the longest in the series. The 7th book will be the final in the series. While I have several books planned (more about that later), the 7th book will be prioritized first and foremost.

Originally, Stryg’s story was meant to only take place in the Ebon Realm but the story evolved and it felt natural to shift the setting of the final book away from the Ebon Realm.

As for other stories, I plan to write more books in the Null Realms with different characters in different realms. For now, I have several stand-alone books planned; one about a knight in the Jade Realm, another about a mysterious stranger that washes up in a small village (tentatively set) in the Bronze Realm, and one about Loh in the Ebon Realm (more about Loh further down).

While I can’t say a lot about what’s coming, I can say I’m very excited; we’ll be meeting new characters and seeing a new realm. The book will also start with a bang. I think you’ll all enjoy it.

Loh’s Novel:

I chose to write a book about Loh for various reasons. Loh has always been my favorite character. She is so ‘human’ in her vulnerability and complexity. She’s made horrible mistakes and she struggles to do what is right. Plagued with guilt and trauma, she pushes it all down and tries to get through life like so many people. Yet she fails, but still tries to do better, because in the end, that is all any of us can do.

That all being said, I have grown as a writer over the years and I know now I could have told Loh’s story in a more fitting and understanding manner, but alas, I will leave that for the rewrite (which will come after the 7th book’s conclusion). I have always considered Loh the deuteragonist of RoM, but there wasn’t enough time to give her the focus she deserved in ‘The Ebon Prince.’

Loh’s standalone novel will serve to give her character the time and development she needs for a proper ending of her character arc. The novel will take place between the 6th and 7th books and will center around the fallout of Stryg’s decisions as king after his departure. It will primarily feature Loh, the wraith Lily, and Loh’s new apprentice, Sandra, along with appearances from various other characters you’ve come to know.

The book will come out some time after RoM’s final book; possibly before or after the other standalone novels. I’m still not sure. Let me know in the comments what Realms you’d be interested in reading more about and whose stories you’d like to explore. Excluding our favorite blue goblin, I’d love to hear who your favorite characters are in the story and your favorite moments in the Ebon Prince.

Thank you for joining me on this journey,

~Frost
