Author’s note: I have something of a contentious relationship with maledom. I like it, but I’m not crazy about the way most people make it. Most of the maledom I encounter is either too violent, too rapey, too sexist/misogynistic, or some unfortunate amalgamation of all three. Consequently, most of the maledom I do consume is stuff I make myself. It’s not that I insist all my maledom be wholesome. Rather, if I’m going to engage with more sensitive material, I prefer to do so on my own terms.
