I always imagine Robin Hood as a thief in his 30s, cocky yet polite, and deeply selfless. He carries out every mission with pure blessing, almost in an extreme style of philanthropy. He gives everything away if it means making others happy, never expecting anything in return. Yet the villagers still offer him gifts as thanks.
His friend, Friar Tusk (named for the single tusk he proudly bears), is a boar monk in his 60s. He keeps the community together whenever Robin is away on missions. Though blessings don't do much, Tusk prefers booze and parties to lift people's spirits XD
But not everyone admires our hero. Enter Li'l John, a 19 year old angsty teenager who believes Robin is nothing more than a fraud, a low level thief flaunting around the forest, collecting money, and handing it out for praise and fame.
One day, Li'l John threatens Robin, claiming he can do a better job than the "old thief." Robin only chuckles at the idea.
Feeling disrespected, Li'l John grows bitter and plots revenge against the "Prince of Thieves," vowing to rob him clean until Robin doesn't even have pajamas left!
Thus begins the tale of Robbing the Hood!
With Billy Buns Plush campaign launching and everything happening in the world, I came up with this idea as a short comic story-and I want to draw it for a change and to lift up my spirits a bit. It's going to be rated PG-13 or... 18+ π π
