Robin Boof and the Lost Pajamas: Part 1
Written by Pit Yindee - Proofread and corrected by GinkgosanOur story opens with a bang! Robin Boof, the legendary Prince of Thieves, is sprinting away from Prince John's royal guards. Tucked under his arm is a "tax refund" liberated from the spoiled prince, along with a bizarre stash of royal trash: half-eaten luxury snacks and custom clothes tossed out just for being "out of season."
Cocky, incredibly skilled, and possessing a heart of gold, Robin pulls off these professional daily escapes just to keep the poor of Sherwood fed.
Naturally, the villagers adore their hero. But not everyone is buying into the hype. Enter three angsty teenagers: Little John, Will Scarlet, and Much the Miller's Son. They absolutely despise Robin's flashy theatrics, convinced he’s only in it for the fame and glory. Robin, recognizing their youthful ignorance, knows they don't understand why he relies on petty theft and trickery instead of just slaughtering the guards.
Always the playful mentor, Robin teases the boys and decides to give them a little lesson. He demonstrates a trick shot to prove that a bow and arrow can be used for distraction rather than destruction. Unfortunately, the demonstration goes a little too well. A rogue arrow accidentally snaps Little John's belt, dropping his pants right in front of everyone! Completely humiliated, Little John furiously swears revenge, vowing to prove that his gang are the superior thieves.
Robin feels a twinge of guilt, but not wanting to kill the festive mood, he brushes it off and heads back to the village to kick off a massive celebration for another successful heist.
Exhausted after a long night of heavy partying, Robin excuses himself to go sleep on a rough tree branch, as he always does. But the villagers have a surprise waiting for him. They’ve secretly built him a cozy little wooden hub nestled between the oak trees. Inside, it's packed with humble gifts from the grateful townspeople: beef jerky, flour, carved wooden dolls from the kids, and even scented candles. It's their small way of giving back to the man who risks his life for them daily.
However, the most ridiculous gift of all is a set of premium, custom-made linen pajamas. Prince John had originally ordered them, only to throw a tantrum and refuse to pay because the fabric was "out of season." The villagers happily salvaged and tailored them specifically for Robin.
Though he acts like a cocky rogue on the outside, Robin is a massive softy on the inside. Unable to reject their heartfelt generosity, he graciously accepts the gifts.
That night, the Prince of Thieves, a man perfectly comfortable sleeping on a bed of leaves, stands awkwardly in his new room. Unsure of what to do with his newly acquired "wealth," he makes a mental note to redistribute the items to neighboring villages the next morning. But for tonight... he figures he might as well try out the pajamas.
Slipping into the linen, he's amazed! He's never felt anything so incredibly comfortable. For the first time in his life, our hero feels like he can finally let his guard down and sleep soundly, wrapped in the love of his people.
...
Or so he thinks.
...
Because out in the darkness, Little John and his gang are creeping closer, ready to rob the Prince of Thieves naked and get their ultimate revenge!
End of Part 1 ❤️
Part 2 will be about them robbing Robin until he has nothing left, not even his pajamas! <> <>
